Carmelo Anthony isn't sure how things will end in Denver, but says he learned from LeBron James how not to leave a team.

"I would never go about it the way LeBron did it," Anthony told Sports Illustrated Senior Writer Ian Thomsen.

"If he could do it all over again, he wouldn't do it that way -- he would do it a totally different way, I can guarantee you that," Anthony added.

Anthony is seeking an amicable split from the Nuggets, while James announced his free agent decision on live television as part of a well-planned ESPN special.

Well yeah he already isn't doing it like LeBron because he's made Denver clearly aware of it. That's how you should do it.

It's only newsworthy cause LeBron is involved.

Only saying that because it brings light to what lebron did to cleveland.
No, I'm saying it's not newsworthy because it's not newsworthy. Melo can't even pull anything like LeBron because he's being traded. He can't just announce where he's going to sign. His team has to make the trade.

You're basically saying that if Melo had the chance to do what Lebron did he would?

Damn right he wouldn't do it that way

Not sure if there's anyone who actually would, seeing the effects it's had on his image.

Dragging it out during the whole season isn't that much better imo. But to each his own.

If I were the best player in the NBA, I'd probably do what LeBron did.

I see what you are saying. Melo is pretty much demanding a trade and not complying with the rest of his contract. Also, screwing the Nuggets by limiting their trade options.

But what Lebron did was worse lol

I think it's partly Denver's fault as well for letting so much out to the public. Not saying it's not Carmelo though.

Prokhorov blamed Denver as well, that's why the deal is off.

The problem is he's not the best in the league :/

I don't even think it would be acceptable if MJ did it.

My thoughts exactly. There's no double standard with that, anyone who would have did it would have been condemned...but there's a difference though, there are people who aren't egotistical.
