I don't see how anyone is overreacting. The Vikings & Packers aren't the only teams they beat, they played most of the year without Stafford and beat some good teams. Better defense, offense should get better, I don't see why they can't win at least 7-8 games. Quit basing it off of their past history, it's a new team.
Okay and Shaun Hill played better last season than Matt Stafford probably could have. What's your point? They're in a tough division - the Packers are only going to get better, the Bears will still have an elite defense, and the Vikings are going to solve their QB problems in the offseason. Like I'm not even hating. Matt Stafford is injury prone and they're in a tough division, they aren't going 8-8.

Oh well, let the haters hate. Let the final results (Wins) do the talking at the end of next year.

Lions could have a Pro-Bowler at every position but people would still think we suck, cause that's the way it's been the last decade.

Lions beat all 3 of our division opponents this year. That's enough confidence I need.

Even though the Lions are improved I don't see how you (Rip) can say worst case scenario is they win 8 games..

A. Shaun Hill is NOT better than a healthy Stafford
B. Just because they are in a tough division doesn't mean they won't win at least 8 games.

I agree, they are in a tough division but that doesn't mean they can't win the amount of games we expect them to win. They have a pretty favorable schedule heading into next year, they can win 8 games. They've beaten the Packers, Vikings already this year and were in contention with the Bears in both games. Should have won the first meeting between the two.

Cause with the improvements they've made and my confidence that we will have another great off-season, I feel like winning 8 games would be a disappointment.

They didn't beat the Bears, they beat the Packers with Matt Flynn, and the Vikings with Joe Webb. Don't get ahead of yourself.

Like damn, we basically won 7 games this year. And were a play or two away from winning a couple more games. You guys act like 8 wins is some crazy ass number to reach lol.

An 8 win season would be a worst case scenario for a team like Baltimore.. They're likely to win more, but if you're looking for their worst win total, 8 would come to mind.. Lions aren't on that level.

As far as I'm concerned we beat the Bears.

And I really could care less who was at QB for either of those squads lol. The Packers are in the NFC Championship game, so it shows they clearly got talent elsewhere. And Webb isn't even that bad.

They lost to the Packers 28-26 @ Green Bay with Rodgers playing. I'm pretty sure Stafford wasn't even playing in that game.

What are you talking about easy schedule? They aren't playing last place teams anymore, they have to play the NFC South, arguably the best division in football, the AFC West which has 3 teams better than Detroit itself, and they have to play at Dallas...

10 was my best case scenario. 8 being a worse case scenario. Which means 9 is the median.
A 9 win team might barely sneak in the playoffs. So above average, but not way above.

Joe Webb had one good game I'm tired of people acting like he's good. He sucked in every other game he played in.

Subtract 3 from all of those numbers and that's around what they'll win next season.

Think what you want.
Coming from someone who likely didn't watch a single Lions game, your opinion about the team doesn't merit much.
I mean, it's pretty easy to make judgments about them by looking at box-scores.

Lol at you assuming I didn't watch any Lions game. Watch a good amount of 5 of their games this year, plus snippets of others. Obviously you're going to pick them to win 9 because you're a fan, so in reality it's your opinion who really means less. I'm not trying to take shots at you, but like you're a fan. Obviously you're going to overhype them. You picked the Pistons to make the playoffs this year...

I never said easy, nothing is easy in the NFL. You are putting words in my mouth that I am not saying. I said they have a favorable schedule, a schedule that they can rack up some wins.

They have a chance at beating any team within in the division. They CAN beat the Raiders, Broncos, Buccaneers, 49ers, Panthers, and possibly Chiefs. Possibly even a few other teams. Will they? I don't know. But can they? Yes.
