Report: Warriors have interest in Tayshaun Prince, Zach Randolph
The Warriors aren’t dead in the water, for once. They’re six games under .500, currently eleventh in the West, and still have trouble stopping people (particularly in the second half, with collapses against Miami and Orlando in the last week), but they also have won six of their last ten, and in general, only really struggle with great teams (currently 1-12 against the top ten teams in point differential). Even if their SRS (simple rating system which factors strength of schedule and point differential) has them behind the Clippers, the Warriors have some things cooking. And they could be looking to improve in the near future.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Warriors are interested in two big name frontcourt players:

The Warriors are interested in Tayshaun Prince and have been intrigued by Zach Randolph, two guys who might fit that description and could be available. Some league sources still believe Andre Iguodala – one of Curry’s favorites – could be made available, but many have soured on that scuttlebutt.
via Warriors’ GM eager to see what team can do.

Prince is intriguing, as he would bring a toughness and leadership which the Warriors haven’t had in decades. He’s a versatile three who would benefit next to Stephen Curry and Monta Ellis, and is looking for a fresh start outside of Detroit. The Warriors have young athletic talent which the Pistons are certainly looking for as they build towards the future. Randolph, on the other hand, would simply give them an All-Star who might average 28 and 17 on a team like the Warriors. The Warriors struggle with rebounding, and Randolph is a board machine.

Z-Bo has been chasing an extension to lock up the rest of his career in Memphis, but would certainly be happy to have a similar situation in the Bay. If the Warriors are willing to lock him up long-term, he could thrive in an even faster pace than run-and-gun Memphis.

Will either of these players get the Warriors into the playoffs? That’s hard to say, and it probably depends on what they have to give up in order to get them. But the Warriors don’t need to build through the draft as much as they need a solid upgrade, and if this report is any indication, they’re looking to improve in substantive ways.

IDK what young talent they are talking about.
Outside of Biedrins and Wright, I don't see anything else they would be willing to trade.

Z-Bo wouldn't be able to keep up with the Warriors run-n-gun system.

I'd definitely take Biedrins! I have always liked him.

No doubt, I've always love AB.
He would compliment Monroe pretty nicely.

I wouldn't mind a Biedrins/Monroe front court for the future. Lots of rebounding and offense. I just hope Monroe can continue to play like he did last night. He had like 16 points and 14 rebounds which is beast.

AB won't produce much offense, but is a hell of a defender and rebounder.

True. He can score, but it seems like he chooses to not shoot the ball.

Pretty much.
But Mornoe lately has been good as fuck. I love it.

Last couple games at least, when he has played 30+ minutes.
14 and 11
16 and 13

How he isn't starting, and playing 30 minutes a game, blows my mind.
He can score every game, but it's clear that he is a bit nervous to do so. He needs to OK to be more aggressive. Which must of been the case the last couple games.

i guess id take ab for prince, but he brings NOTHING on the offensive end. and his free throw shooting is so bad. eh, wed lose more games with him really. but on the other end, he does help us rebuild and gives us another minor piece for our shatty future.

on the other side, tay would actually do really well in gs.

Yeah, exactly. He needs to understand that he is a rookie and he is going to make mistakes. That's why he just needs to play aggressive and he will learn.

Bottom line is either we get something for Prince or we let him walk.
I'll gladly take AB instead of letting Prince go for absolutely nothing.

IDK.
From what I seen last night, it showed he can play with some aggression. He was attacking the rim, and taking the contact.

But you are right, he will never be a guy looking for contact. He is too crafty IMO. I can't help but to think of Tim Duncan when I see him play. Obviously he isn't anywhere near as talented, but he does remind me of him.

It's because Keuster has the shittiest rotations and lineup combinations that are possible. He clearly doesn't like to play the guys that flourish in big minutes, like Monroe, the big minutes.

Like I said in the NBA Gameday thread, I think Daye and Monroe both showed that they need to be getting the minutes that the other players are taking from them.

Joe drafts these guys just to ride the pine, it's so irritating. IDK how either is suppose to get any better if we don't let them start.

They have some decent young back-ups. Reggie Williams can do amazing when he isn't buried on the bench. Jeremy Lin has torn up the D-league...etc.

But I think ZBo next to DLee would be a nice duo. Adds another big man which they really need.

Lol this might as well have been posted in the Central Division. Make it easier for all the Pistons fans to talk about more Prince/Rip trades that won't happen.
