Bullshit...
Another stupid ass fine on a perfectly fine hit. Mathis fined for playing football, what a fucking joke. How come they don't fine Daryl Smith for grabbing Collie's neck? Not that I have anything against it, because it was clean imo, but why not fine a more serious hit? I realize these players make millions, and shouldn't hurt them too much, but this is football. This is a man's game. Don't like getting hit? Don't fucking play. Seriously though, why punish players for being physical? I think it's a total fucking joke.

1:47. You see that? That's football right there.

Oh and they care about player safety?Bull fucking shit. Why would they extend the season?

Probably because the people who used to play in the NFL back in the day are all fucking retarded now from all the hits they took in their playing career.

I understand they want to help player safety, and all, but why start throwing out fines for playing football? Why extend the season?

and half of them are fine with the hits they took. They are ok with that. They knew that was the risk when they entered the draft, or signed that big contract extension. THEY KNEW THAT!!!

I got no problem suspending a guy for malicious hits, who lunges head first at a receiver and puts the receivers life and his own at risk. But 95% of these hits are perfectly legal. It is how they were taught to tackle. It's only fined or suspended because the hit is bigger... there is more impact. Rather than the defender hitting a player who is still, it is a receiver and a defender running head on. He makes the tackle by turning his head and going shoulder first under the other guys shoulder pads. The two helmets touch because they are large and it is nearly impossible to tackle a person above the waist and not make helmet contact of some sorts. They helmets touch on almost every tackle above the waist.... but its only the tougher hits that are noticed. People and the NFL including... just... don't understand the difference between slight contact and lunging head first.. they don't understand the difference between intentional and unintentional hits. They just don't get it and they never will.

The league is starting to fill up with a bunch of babies, and its not the players. I don't see the players complaining about the hits they take. Sometimes they'll react on the sideline from a big hit and want a penalty, but thats just because they know it'll help 'em get better yardage if it IS flagged. Other than that, they don't give a shit. They recognize it is a part of the game and they deal with it. The only pussies who bitch about it are the NFL executives and pussy fans who got cut trying out for Freshman Football and want to take their unresolved anger out on something.

And i agree with what Danny says. With all the concussions we're getting (most of which are from VERY legal hits), with all the leg injuries and now this... why the hell would they INCREASE the number of games in a season.

The media affects everything. Many fans, players, player's families, etc have complained about the many dangers of football, and there have been tests conducted on it. In order to make the fans happy, they had to make some safety changes. As for extending the season, they want more money.

Refs are humans. They make mistakes. They miss calls, they call bad calls. Have you ever been a real ref??? Then you would know.

I didn't say a thing about the refs. Although they been shit this season, they been missing a lot more calls, than years past.

All of you cry babies who want to see players get hurt and ruin their lives in the future, stop watching the NFL..

The real hypocrites and jokes are the people who constantly complain yet continue to watch the product.

When you have enjoyed something in the past, then it changes, you cant expect to just leave it. You try to change it back to the way you liked it. Your basically describing a pussy who hates life as he is too lazy to try and change anything.

You have enjoyed watching players have their lives cut short and come up with serious problems in the future because of un-necessary hits to the head? Well I'm sorry but we don't enjoy the same things.

its not that we dont care, its that they are flagging and fining for hits that are legal but higher impact or helmets touching when it's unavoidable.

Okay. Since Helmet to Helmet hits are gonna happen either way, let's just have the NFL play flag football.

NFL isn't playing flag football right now and they have made helmet to helmet hits illegal and blind siding defenseless receivers.. Like I said, you don't like it, don't watch it.
