Though the thought for Patriots fans may be as unlikely as it is appealing, one of the league's top receivers may be available. While the offense has looked pretty impressive over the last month, it still lacks a deep threat. Brandon Tate has yet to do much in that role and hasn't really shown signs he'll do so down the road. This draft should be well stocked with big-bodied, downfield threats.

If Larry Fitzgerald is shopped by Arizona I would think Bill Belichick would at least do his due diligence. Is that too much to ask for as a Patriots fan? Probably. But keep dreaming. No one thought the team would ever get Randy Moss and ended up getting three-plus great years out of him.

Definitely could be a possibility, and we all know the Patriots have a nice selection of draft picks in their arsenal. I wonder how much longer Fitzgerald will be in Arizona, where the offense is just falling apart with a lack of a run game and no answer at QB, while also losing 2 significant players on defense this past year to free agency.

They should fix that secondary.

No, after the Bengals release both Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, they need to pursue Fitzgerald.

Did they need a deep threat to rip the J-e-t-s JETS JETS JETS a new one? How about the ass kicking they laid on the Bears? NE is leading the league at 31.9 ppg, so Fitzgerald would obviously be great to have, but they are doing ok w/o him.

I think Fitz will stay. They just need to get a QB who can get him the ball.

Wishful thinking Pats fans. He isn't gonna go to New England.

...They will draft a QB this year.

QB is clearly the much needed position the Cardinals are looking at, that's what is really holding back the team right now. However, the Cardinals defense isn't helping matters, either, they are bad.

Um, what fixing has to be done?
Your defense plays good one week, plays poorly the next. Maybe it's just a combination of a lot of young players, that will get better with time and experience.

Well, Danny said the secondary, not the whole defense. In the secondary, I don't see too many changes. When Danny said "The secondary needs fixing", he made it sound like the secondary needs an overhaul when in reality, it's very young and it just needs some changes. The defense plays prevent a lot during close games so the numbers can be deceiving...

Depth at CB, and a number 2 corner.

our secondary right now:

FS Meriweather (2nd in Pro Bowl Voting for AFC)
SS Chung (2nd in Pro Bowl Voting for AFC)
CB Devin McCourty- 2nd in NFL in INT(still don't get how he's so far not going to the Pro Bowl... guys been a freak...)
CB Kyle Arrington- Average; could live with him

Leigh Bodden will have 1 more year left on his deal after being on the IR this season. He is gonna need to be good in order to have good FA value. He will be good.

The only spot I see a glaring need for NE is DE/DT. With the rookie class full of DEs like Quinn, Clayborn, Kerrigan, Heyward, etc, they dont really need to sign a FA DE.

If he goes through to FA, expect a big push from NE to get Ngata....

Ngata-Wilfork-Warren
(Rookie)-Spikes-Mayo-Tully

secondary should be fine

Our #2 corner will be Leigh Bodden going into next season. Depth at CB I can agree with, but that's not really fixing the secondary...
Leigh Bodden is a #3 corner at best
