Do bad teams deserve to be in the playoffs?

The question I got is do bad teams deserve to be in the playoffs? I'm talking about 8-8 division winners, like the 08 Chargers, and this year's NFC West. I would say yes, because they won the division, and remember any given sunday. Yall remember the 08 Cards? No one gave them a shot to go to a Super Bowl, yet they did. The cool thing bout it is that more upsets happen.

Why wouldn't they? They win their division they're in. Who's to say they're not 8-8 because their competition isn't better? People say the AFC West is week, but it's a close race between the top 3 teams, all three of those teams are playoff caliber imo.

That brings up a situation thats happening this year. The Raiders are looking like they will go undefeated in division play this year but won't make the playoffs. That's ###### up

If a team wins their respective division, they deserve to be in the playoffs no matter what. That's how it's been, but now a division is struggling and possibly going to make the playoffs with a losing record so it becomes a huge deal, you never know what can happen come playoff time.

I agree that if they win the division they should get in. But like ae said 7-9 is not cool.

No reason they shouldn't be if they win their division. I don't have a problem with 8-8 making it in, but 7-9 is just ugly to see make it in. Although, it's not like it happens every year, so it wont be a yearly issue.
