That guys foot was still the whole time from the start of the video. Its not like he is on the field sticking out his foot. Now if he moved his foot towards the player then yes I would say he tried to trip him.

Sal Alosi apologizes, will accept “any punishment”

We’ve heard a few suggestions that the intentional trip by Jets strength & conditioning coach Sal Alosi on Sunday wasn’t that big of a deal. A media creation.

That’s a ridiculous notion. The Jets clearly know it’s a big deal and the league will have their say soon enough.

Alosi released a statement on Sunday night, after the Jets already apologized for the incident.

“I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for. I spoke to Coach Sparano and Nolan Carroll to apologize before they took off. I have also apologized to Woody [Johnson], Mike [Tannebaum and Rex [Ryan.] I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows.”

Miami players and media are calling for Alosi to be fired. That seems unlikely considering Ryan’s reported respect for Alosi. We think the act deserves a league suspension, and we suspect that’s what will happen.

The bigger pile of shyt is that the J-E-T-S are trying to say that a strength and conditioning coach was working on his own to line up players on the sidelines during kicks/punts. Seriously?

Every team in the league does it, including your favorite team.

one thing i have to say to that player is GET THE <Censored> OFF THE SIDELINE

The coach didn't even move his foot, I've seen the video in fast and slow-mo. Yeah, he tripped the dude but COME ON MAN. He was running down the sideline like a <Censored>ing retard.

Most gunners do run out of bounds when trying to stop a return... Thats why they were lined up there.

If you're going to run on the sidelines then you shouldn't expect the other team to get out of your way. I know it looks bad but the coach didn't do <Censored> wrong. He didn't even move his foot to trip the dude.

I think he got punished enough, he doesn't deserve to get fired IMO. It was completely classless though and should've never happened.
