I'd request a name change back to "DH34", but he's likely the next player to be traded.
You do realize this trade will help the Nets in trading for Melo, right? The Nets are receiving 2 first-round picks. Those will be vital if/when they trade for Melo. A first round pick is a first round pick. Sure it may not be a lottery pick, but there should be some sort of talent at that pick. Calling a 1st round pick to be essentially a 2nd round pick is horribly incorrect. So a 2nd round pick (that's pretty much what Lakers 1st round picks are worth) is a big time steal for the Nets? Also, Vujacic has hardly even played this season. He has lost major playing time within the past two seasons along with his jump shot.
Uh, so just because he's an expiring, that makes him a bad acquisition? All teams go through a re-building process after years of being at the least, a solid team. If I were to view this trade through the eyes of a Nets' personnel, I would love this trade. You trade away a nuisance to the team, get an expiring, and 2 first round picks. So what if Sasha is a scrub? The Nets aren't looking to be contenders this season. Even if the Nets don't get Melo, they could trade CP3, or someone of that caliber with the amount of picks they have. Now they have Harris leftover, so you trade him for a swing man. A CP3-Lopez combo would be deadly for the years to come. With the expiring, you now have more room to sign solid role players.Yes, such a huge steal. We obviously have different definitions of the phrase here.
A late first round pick, let's not get fooled by the success stories of some late 1st or 2nd round pick stories, the vast majority don't amount to much in reality.
What exactly were they stealing again? An unlikely scenario of attempting to trade for Melo and a scrub that lost his jump shot when that was the only thing he's been able to do that ever made him of any worth as a player. Oh wait, but he's an expiring. lol expirings are only important to irrelevant teams, that of which the Nets are.
So how does this make the Nets relevant if they still miss out on Melo? Wait, it doesn't.
Oh yeah, I forgot the Mavs are a team full of scrubs... :/Scrubs would be any players on Dallas not named Nowitzki or Kidd.
EDIT: We definitely plan on making more deals. The Bricks just tried to trade for Houston's first in order to send it to Denver for Melo.
Hmm....
You weren't going to get a PG at pick 30smh
lakers keep getting rid of draft picks
fine, but not for freaking joe smith
<Censored>
but they're in win now mode. im just sick of not having a PG. one of 3 teams in the NBA without one (Heat and hawks)
all of sudden the lakers get bigger lol
Bynum's back, Pau, Odom, Caracter, Ratliff is back soon, and Joe Smith
*shrug* I just don't see Melo in a Nets uniform. I guess it could happen.
Meh, whatever. Don't even know why I care. This doesn't largely effect the Western Conference either way. Well, it would, but nothing detrimental to the Lakers. If the Nets manage to pry Melo or some other player away, that only makes things better on our end.
Why would someone wanna save money for Shannon Brown?Jarrod, I was wondering why they gave up the 1st too
but after reading some things, saves money to re-sign Shannon Brown
Because the dude is playing amazing right now. If he keeps it up he could win 6th man of the year. Why would someone wanna save money for Shannon Brown?
Sasha is expiring, I doubt he will even play more than 3 min a game.Nets, on other hand, good luck with Sasha and still NOT getting Melo
SMH @ you Dan lol.Why would someone wanna save money for Shannon Brown?
