ESPN - The Jets are poised to re-sign wide receiver Laveranues Coles, a league source confirmed Saturday night.

Coles was en route to New Jersey late Saturday and will sign Sunday morning, making him eligible for Monday night's battle with New England.

He will replace safety Jim Leonhard, who was placed on the injured reserve.

ESPN - The Jets have cut wide receiver Laveranues Coles after they signed him to a contract last week.

Coles was inactive for Monday night's game against the Patriots.

New York is looking to add depth to the safety position.
