Sure, CP and Deron are better than Rondo, but Rose isn't.... Rondo is a much better distributer, rebounder, leader, and defender. The difference between Rose and Rondo? Rose is asked to score, Rondo isn't.

Rondo has the edge on distributing, but Rose is a very good passer. he's averaging 9 assits a game. i said this before, 9 assists a game on a team with no real offensive threats (Luol deng?) is very impressive.

Rondo is a better rebounder, yes, but Rose is pretty good as well.
Rose since his rookie year: 3.9, 3.8, 3.7 this season. so thats 4 rebounds a game
Rondo since Roses' rookie year: 5, 4, 5. 4.4 for his career

Rondo is a better leader? how is he better?
Rose has been leading his team from day 1. Rondo has been leading the Celtics since last year
but this is hard to judge. both are definitely great leaders.

as for defense, you're right. Rondo is better, though Rose has improved a ton and is no slouch.


all in all, i'd say Rose is better overall.
this is hard though. because if im the Celtics, i wouldnt want Rose this season. and if im the Bulls, i wouldnt want Rondo either.

i just think Rose offensively puts him over the top narrowly over rondo

Rondo isn't asked to be scoring 20+ a night, like Rose is. Also, you realize that Rondo is playing with 3 future HOF's. Do you think it is easy for a young player, like Rondo, to earn the trust of all his teammates? There is a reason why analysts are calling the Celtics' "Rondo's Team".

I have seen Rondo play quite a lot, and I know what I am looking at. The speed and creativity Rondo brings to the court is much better than what Rose brings to a table. If you are going to start a new team, you want a pass first guard, not a shoot first guard. A point guard is a player who is expected to distribute the ball not to score 20+ points every night. Rose is a combo guard, and Rondo arguably the purest point guard right now, and I'm not the only one saying that.

So yes, Rose is better in terms of scoring and such, but when it comes to what Rondo is better at, that makes Rondo the better point guard.

getting layups can only give you so many points

you said a PG is supposed to pass and not score, Rose does both. he's averaging 9-10 assists this season man. thats superb

I've never claimed that you hated Rondo. Rondo isn't expected to score or carry teams to the play offs, just play defense and create space for his teammates and dish it off, just what a point guard is expected to do.

So yeah, when Rose averages 15 APG and plays stellar defense, call me.
