I had to go with Team B


I like this idea, very intuitive.


I liked Team B more because of the veteran leadership in the rotation. While Team A has some great up and comers, a rotation like Team B's of Wainwright, Halladay, Sabathia, teamed with the young arms of Felix and Kershaw just seems so dominating. Plus, Halladay and Sabathia are known to both go on short-rest if needed and/or can close out games, giving the bullpen much-needed breaks from time to time to rest up.

Price is the best of those 3 you just listed, then it's a debate between Kershaw and Lester and I'd lean more towards Lester because he plays in a tougher division.

Price is in the tougher division (though the Giants did win the damn world series)
but Kershaw and Price were pretty similar this past season, and Kershaw is 3 years younger

it's marginal either way though.
i'll gladly take Kershaw over Price ^_^

I would take Team B for a couple of reasons. 1st of all Team A has had more players that have been injury prone in the past such as Utley, Tulo, Jacoby, and Vlad. 2nd of all I like my closer having serious playoff experience and Brian Wilson proved that this past year. Next I love speed in baseball because it adds a dimension to teams that isnt readily used in baseball by all teams. With Gardner, Mcutchen, and Hram I get that. As for the pitching staff's I think A has the advantage, but its not significant to the point that it would sway my decision.

Mexi, how the hell does CC bring down Team B? He's easily the 3rd best pitcher on that staff.

Clearly Sabathia is not "easily" better. Plus Kershaw, Price and Lester are all young aces that I am sure many teams would prefer for the future, and when you said this you never said now or future.

CC allowed 20 HRs, Lester 14.

CC's WHIP was 1.19, Lester's WHIP was 1.20. Not a big difference.

CC allowed 84 ERs, Lester allowed 75 ERs.

CC held hitters to .245 AVG, Lester held them to .247. Not a big difference.

CC allowed 209 hits, Lester allowed 167.

Both had two complete games.

CC also pitched 30 more innings than Lester.

Yeah but I highly doubt Lester would have allowed 6 more homeruns and 42 more hits in 30 innings. Also Lester had a lot ore strikeouts.

Strikeouts aren't a big deal at all. CC isn't a major strikeout pitcher anymore either. He's really using his changeup a lot more and has been pitching to contact a lot more than he ever has in the last two years.

Lester walked 9 more guys than CC did in 30 innings less and his hits would be a lot closer to CC's if he had the extra 30 innings because of how similar their WHIPs are. You say the Yankees had 3 Gold Glovers, yet the Red Sox were being advertised as the pitching and defense team...

CC Sabathia is one of the most reliable pitchers in the MLB, goes deep into games every time, steps up in big games and can pitch just as good on 3 days rest. 2 years ago he single-handedly carried a team into the playoffs.
