Look at the similarities between these teams.

- Both have No 1 Overall franchise QB's.
- Calvin Johnson is the Lions Marvin
- Tight End Tandums of Scheffler/Pettigrew and Dilger/Pollard
- Veteran OLB that has won with other teams. Peterson is the Lions Cornelius Bennett.
- Veteran DE with high motors. KVB is the Lions Chad Bratzke.
- Great DT's in the middle. Suh is like the Lions Ellis Johnson except way better.
- Louis Delmas and Alphonso Smith are the Lions Jason Belser.
- Jahvid Best is the Lion's Edgerrin James.

Not saying the players will all become this, but the rebuilding plan is very similar. For those who don't know in 1999 the Colts went from 3-13 to 13-3.

I'm not saying he is as good as him. What I mean is they are both versatile backs drafted a year after the franchise QB's were drafted.

Oh and one more thing.. You can't really mimic the Colts rebuilding path unless you draft an immortal QB.

Did you read what I said at the bottom? They were both No 1 overall picks with high hopes. No way in hell am I saying Stafford = Manning, that's just insane.

I think we got a chance if Stafford stays healthy. But thats a big IF. We are putting together a great core that could make us a good team for many years to come. But the MAIN THING is going to be Stafford.

I know.. I'm just saying, it's hard to compare anything to the Colts, because Peyton is arguably the greatest QB of all time, and he never gets hurt.

Yeah I'm not saying the Lions are gonna go 13-3, because they have similar rebuilding plans. No I think the Lions if they play to potential go 9-7 to 11-5 to me. They don't have the Manning factor.

What stance? All I said is I think Tom Brady is better.. Both QBs are arguably the greatest at QB.

Fair enough. The way you debated it, I wouldn't have thought Peyton was in your top three, but that's just how I read your arguments.

lmao, x2. Stafford isnt even close to what Peyton Manning was in 1999. Im sorry but I dont see the comparison, I think what would be more adjustable would be to the Buccaneers and when they brought in Tony Dungy to change the culture of the franchise. The Lions are getting there, but they still have a way to go more specifically by having a healthy quarterback.
