Yes! My fantasy football opponent for Week 10 has Stafford as his starting QB and Hill as his backup.

Looks like I got 2 in a row. Back in it baby!!!

sucks for stafford though...

They might as well draft a QB, since it seems like Stafford can't stay on the field. Seriously what are his shoulders made out of?

We wont draft a new qb unless its a late round pick. We got to much money into stafford. He has like a 72 million dollar contract so.

He needs to get surgery. Then come back, and not get hurt on the same shoulder.

It's easy to say it now but I never saw Matthew Stafford as the "can't miss quarterback" to take with the first overall pick. I felt the same way about Stafford as I did Alex Smith...both of whom who benefit from their teams so desperately needing a franchise qb heading into draft day. Am I saying they should of taken Sanchez...no, I wasn't high on him either. Stafford I figured a good quarterback, not franchise & Sanchez only started 1 year at USC, making it very hard for me to trust him.

Lions should of taken Flacco in 2008.

Flacco is overrated as <Censored>.

The clear cut argument was whether to go with Stafford or Bradford, and I was a firm believer in choosing Bradford as the franchise quarterback. However, Sam decided to stay one more year at Oklahoma, and this dismissed the whole argument that was on hand. Stafford has a lot of great tools you can't teach, such as character and his arm strength. I want to see him come back from this injury and fight back to regain where he was when he left off.

Strangely enough...only 2 Colts' fans think Flacco is overrated... ;) I don't think anyone will say that Joe Flacco is this phenomenal quarterback but he doesn't give the ball away more times than not, he's really figuring out how to lead his offense when the ground attack isn't working, and he wins. What more do you need in a franchise quarterback?

I am firm believer that you don't draft a quarterback (or any player) with the first overall pick unless you really feel that they are "the one" or "can't miss". Suh was such a lock at the first overall in 2010 and you know it hurt the Rams to let him go elsewhere...but they just felt that Sam Bradford was too good to pass up on. Detroit took Stafford b/c of a desperate need at QB and he happened to be the best in the class (at the time). Detroit would've been better served addressing another need with the pick, trading down, and then waiting until the next draft or the next best opportunity to land their guy.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford isn't planning surgery on his injured right shoulder.

Stafford will miss Sunday's game against Dallas, his second straight and seventh this season with a separated throwing shoulder.

Shaun Hill will start in his place against the Cowboys in a matchup of 2-7 teams.

Stafford was evaluated Monday by Dr. James Andrews, and he concurred with the team's rehabilitation plan.

Stafford says he is determined to come back and play this season even if it's the final game.

Lions running back Kevin Smith is scheduled to have thumb surgery Thursday and there's no timetable for his return.
SMH Dude get the damn surgery.

Mise well, since he's out for the rest of the season anyway, it will probably be a continuation for years if he doesn't.
