The Philadelphia Flyers have locked up a big part of their future as they have signed forward Claude Giroux to a three-year contract extension worth $11.25 million. The 22-year old Giroux is in the final year of his entry level contract that will see him earn $765,000 this season.  Under the terms of his new deal, the Hearst, Ontario native will earn $2.75 million in the first year of the extension, $3.5 million in the second and $5 million in the third for an average annual value of $3.75 million. Giroux has followed up a strong playoff performance that saw him score 10 goals and add 11 assists in 23 games during the Flyers improbable Stanley Cup run with a fast start this season.  He has seven goals and seven assists in 15 games.
Great signing. Dudes turning into one of the best 2 way players in the league.

The reason why I said that is because you said it may be expensive for this year. I don't quite get what u mean by that.
