Not saying this is gonna happen but this makes it a better chance for Brett to come back next season lol.
They don't have the veteran defense that they had back then, and a major hole at running back. For those who said the Patriots can't win without Moss...do we even need to mention the receivers they won their championships with?
yeah i know who they are, but the less knowledgeable may not have understood.Look above you.
I don't think anyone is saying Tate will fill Moss' shoes, but what we're saying is there is someone there who can still have an impact on this offense -- and getting to see how Tate handles being the #2 or #3 receiver on this offense now will tell people a lot about the potential he has to be a key part of this offense in 2 or 3 years from now -- maybe not at the same level as moss but nevertheless still a weapon on the offense as he gains experience and improves. They don't have the veteran defense that they had back then, and a major hole at running back.
Also are you guys saying that Brandon Tate is going to fill Randy Moss' shoes, because that is hilarious. Tate can't touch Moss at all, and having two short yardage guys like Welker and Edleman will jam the middle of the field. Also now the Vikings have want they desperately needed, a big play receiver. The Vikings will be a scary ass team when they get Rice back.
Even if he has a bunch of potential, he isn't even close to his level at the time. Now defensive can take the two people that they had to have on Randy Moss., they put more people over the middle of the field to stop Welker and Edleman, and maybe put a corner on Hernandez. Losing that big play threat is going to hurt New England big.I don't think anyone is saying Tate will fill Moss' shoes, but what we're saying is there is someone there who can still have an impact on this offense -- and getting to see how Tate handles being the #2 or #3 receiver on this offense now will tell people a lot about the potential he has to be a key part of this offense in 2 or 3 years from now -- maybe not at the same level as moss but nevertheless still a weapon on the offense as he gains experience and improves.
+1Tate can't hold Moss' jock and he never will.
But Moss stretches the field and demands double teams at times when he goes off.LOL so many Pat haters.
Saying Edelman and Welker will jam the middle is ridiculous. Do you really think they would send them both to the middle on the same play? I can't wait to see what kind of plays they will have to get each of them in the open field. I'm thinking they'll continue those double fake screens with Welker and Edelman on each side.
And please, Moss wasn't their whole offense. It didn't revolve around him. They have such a genius offense. This will only allow them to spread the ball around without Randy in their ear asking for the ball.
And running back isn't a "glaring hole". They always have and will continue to get by with a 2-3 guy rotation, and it's working great right now. Plus, they have Welker for those short screens and plays like that which is basically more run plays.
*MAYBE?* He's nothing compared to Randy. Randy is a Hall of Famer, Tate is a unproven 2nd year receiver. Don't get me wrong I like Tate, but to consider him anything close to Randy is hilarious. Ok PATRIOT.That's just an easy answer man.
Tate would have and should have been a 1st round pick if he didn't break his leg in his Senior year. So many people underestimate him. The guy's a number one receiver. Maybe he's not Moss, but they guy is gonna be good. And even though Moss was double teamed, Brady will have no trouble finding an open man. Sure it opened some space up, but they guy's a Hall of Famer for a reason.
Neither of them a deep threat, so where else are they going to put Welker and Edelman. Both of these guys make their living in the middle of the field. Moss stretches the field, and gave that opening to Welker. Now that they don't have that deep threat (I'll believe Tate will be that guy when I see it. He has potential, but so did Charles Rodgers) they will focus on Welker and Edelman, which means the jam the middle. That also is going to hurt their running game. That means more people in or around the box, and the Patriots don't have a playmaking running back that can get around that.LOL so many Pat haters.
