The Bulls announced Sunday that Carlos Boozer will miss eight weeks with a fractured right hand.

The team said Boozer suffered the injury on Saturday, a day off for the Bulls. The fracture of the fifth metacarpal will require surgery.

More to come.
Well he got his new contract so it was about time he got a long injury.

No one saw it coming, seeing as it was probably a freak injury..

I think he's implying that Boozer is constantly hurt.

I realize that. But it was a hand injury. Has nothing to do with previous injury history, unless I am unaware of a series of freak hand injuries.

Suckas! Good thing Utah has Big Al now instead of banged up Booz.

Sucks for the Bulls big time though. I was looking forward to them playing with him.

The point is that he is made of glass. At least he wasn't in the top 5 worst signings of this past FA period.

I'd love to see your list of the top 5 worst signings.
In order:

1. Joe Johnson
2. Rudy Gay
3. Brendon Hawyard
4. Amare Stoudemire
5. Drew Gooden

Dis-honorable mention:

Travis Outlaw
Darko Milicic
Carlos Boozer
John Salmons
Johan Petro

Eh. I think Joe Joe was a fine sign, Rudy Gay was a have to sign for the Grizz. And Amare was a GREAT sign for the Knicks.

Outlaw is worse than most of those. Gay and Johnson are at least good players, Outlaw blows.

Outlaw played decent today for the Nets. I think he'll be a key piece to their team.

Johnson's contract will be a HUGE albatross once the new CBA takes effect. Gay isn't even the best player on his team, that goes to O.J. Mayo. And Amare without insurance on his knees, eyes and a PG to set him up? He'll get his numbers, but the Knicks will still stink.

EDIT: Even if there isn't a new CBA, Johnson's contract will look horrible in about two years when he's out of his prime.

I'd say Gay > Mayo. I'd even say Z.Bo is more important to their team than Mayo. But Mayo would be the #3 guy.

Sure the Hawks threw a lot of money at Johnson, but he's been real steady for them, and they probably knew they couldn't lure James or Bosh or any of the big names, so why not keep their best player?

Considering that most Grizzlie fans and coaches believe that Mayo is the better all-around player on both ends of the floor, I would tend to believe them.

And why throw all of that money at JJ when they have absolutely NO shot at beating out Orlando, Boston (and now Miami)for the EC title?

The thing is they think they have a shot. The nearly beat Boston when it won the championship. They think they are right up there with the big boys, whether they are or not depends on how they play this year.

All it takes is one hot streak to win it all. The Hawks have a shot. They just need a legit center, Horford's too small to play center. He's a PF.

Maybe they should use some of their remaining cap space to trade for/sign a serviceable center. Oh wait...
