Montreal Canadiens general manager Pierre Gauthier has saved himself a major headache as the team announced Thursday that they have signed restricted free agent goaltender Carey Price to a two-year contract. The deal is worth $5.5 million, with Price set to earn $2.5 million this season, and $3 million in 2011-12.

Way too much. He is a bust IMO.

I don't understand why the Habs gave 5.5 Million to a goalie who hasn't proved anything.

How is he a bust? He had a great rookie season, a medicore 2nd season and average 3rd season. He's so young and immature he still has a lot of room to improve. Look at Fleury.

Cause he was drafted 5 years ago. I know goalies take longer to mature but still. Who knows though.

I have heard people call him a bust.

Does it matter that he was drafted 5 years ago? Like I said he's still young and he still has a lot of room to improve. Those guys who call him a bust are idiots. It's too early to tell.

He's not a bust, he still has plenty of time, but he does seem to go on a rollercoaster ride each season.

I'm not comparing both. I'm just saying that Price still has time to improve.
