Owner Woody Johnson told ESPN's E:60 program Monday that his "gut feeling" is Darrelle Revis will not play for the Jets in 2010.
"My gut feeling is, I would say no," said Johnson. Added coach Rex Ryan: "I have no communication there from my end. ... We’ve got to prepare like he’s not going to be here." The Jets rejected a contract proposal from Revis and his agent, and now seem poised to take a hard-line stance. Perhaps talks will pick back up if the Jets suffer an injury in the secondary this preseason. Aug. 9 - 8:56 pm et

This situation is really getting interesting. As a fellow AFC fan, I would love to see Revis not playing for the Jets this season, but in all honesty, the Jets need this guy brutally.

What a tool...

Just <Censored>ing accept the cash they're willing to pay you and go play. You're not as good as Nnamdi and you still have room to get better.

Shut the hell up, get paid, and go play.

I agree there, and pretty much with everything you said Blake. The guy just needs to go out and continue to play at a high level to get all this money he wants.

Answer me this. Revis has shown this high level of play, for one season. How many years did Nnmadi constantly show it? Well, he is still showing it till this day with a <Censored>ty defense around him. I am not saying Revis is not a good CB, but the truth is the guy hasn't been doing it as long as Nnmadi to be deserving of receiving that kind of cash.

I could imagine. If you have a good slot WR, it's <Censored>ing over for them.

Run passes underneath? If the Colts were playing against that, I would feel mighty comfortable attacking that defense with Dallas Clark and Gonzo/Collie.

According to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News, the 10-year proposals on the table by both the Jets and Revis differ by $40M.
The $40M doesn't even include signing bonuses and guaranteed money. The Jets have had a 10-year, $120M offer "on the table for months," so it seems that Revis' camp is asking for 10-years, $160M. No wonder Woody Johnson's gut feeling is that Revis won't play for the Jets. Aug. 11 - 8:09 am et

I love Revis, but what the <Censored>?
That is what I don't get.. How can this guy after lighting the league up for one year, expect to get 40 million dollars more than a good offer that the Jets have put out? Something is just not clicking for me.
