Despite positive statements about his future in New Orleans following Monday's meeting with the team, Chris Paul is still seeking a way out, according to a source close to the point guard.

It at first appeared as though the Hornets had completely ended the Paul saga, but Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports that isn't the case.

"The telltale thing is that Chris Paul won't comment publicly other than what was released about it," said a person familiar with Paul's strategy.

"Leon Rose didn't come out and say, 'Chris is happy in New Orleans.' If he was happy, they would've said that. ... The only way they can get close to full value is to say, 'You guys can't make trade demands.' They're orchestrating this thing to likely move him."

A number of sources indicate that Paul and his new group of power brokers at Creative Artists Agency, led by Rose, continue to pull strings behind the scenes.

Meanwhile, the Hornets have been looking at the Magic, Bobcats and Nets as potential trade partners.

New Orleans appears focused on trading Paul to the Eastern Conference, while Paul wants to compete for a championship.

"Basically, he doesn't think they're good enough and he's put LeBron's people around him for a reason," the person familiar with Paul's strategy said. "And he doesn't want to wait two years and be 27 years old trying to get on a championship team. He wants to do it now."

The Hornets are standing firm on not letting Paul dictate which teams he'll like to be traded to.

Now I believe that. It seemed right up Paul's alley to say "oh everything is fine I want to remain a Hornet forever," when secretly he is crying for help. Thats classy.

Somehow I doubt NJ would land him...well I guess they do have Devin Harris to offer, but he has been plagued of injuries as of late. Bobcats, I dunno who they would offer...probably Captain Jack or something.

NBA Issues Memo Warning Teams About Contact With Paul

A memo was issued on Tuesday by the NBA to remind teams about tampering rules, specifically about Chris Paul.

ESPN.com learned that the memo spells out that "no team should be having communications with Chris Paul or his agent or representative about a potential trade for Paul that have not been authorized in advance by the New Orleans Hornets."

Paul's agent Leon Rose has reportedly been in contract with several teams.

The memo, sources said, also threatens penalties for any such communications that could potentially include "suspension of the offending person, prohibition of the offending team from hiring the person being tampered with, forfeiture of draft picks and individual and/or team fines of up to $5 million."

First of all, what NO wanted from us in return for CP3 is ridiculous. They wanted DH34, Favors, T-Will and two first rounders (something that the NYK's will not have for a long time). They also wanted us to take Okafor (good player) and his albatross of a contract. So there is no chance that he comes here, which is fine by me considering that he isn't even the best PG on his own team at this point in time after that knee surgery. Lastly: DH34 > CP-Knee.

Twill, if your players were as good as you make them out to be/think they are, they would have won just 12 games last season.

Care to remind me where two of those twelve wins came from last year? We will have the largest increase in win total from last year to now, that's a guarantee. Lopez (recovering from mono) is better than every player on the Bricks roster, and the same could be said for DH34.

Silly Bricks fan.

lmao Brook Lopez and DH are better than Amar'e? If Brook is this all-star center, you honestly would have won more than 12 <Censored>ing games last year. Stop making excuses and talking about how great they'll be next year - what did he do last year to show it? I think bias aside, more people will be willing to say that Lopez last year was a product of being the only decent player on a bad team, rather than being this great can't-miss all star. And Harris is a chucking PG, really an undersized slashing (but poor finishing) SG who hasn't peaked, and quite frankly never will peak to what fans make him out to be. He is the type of PG no team wants to have if they want to win. Sorry, but the Nets still have a ways to go before being anywhere near relevant.

Lol Amare is way better than anyone on the Nets. Lopez was just a good player on a bad team, and Harris is solid but will never be a star on a great team. Pretty much what Yankees said.

Lopez is good. DH34 is good, when he is 100% healthy. But I think your throwing CP3 under the bus on this one. CP3 is still one of the top 5 PGs in the game, probably even top 3. Knee surgery is not what it was back in the 80s, look at Amare. He's playing very well again and he had surgery.

So a supporting cast of Trenton Hassell, Josh Boone, Keyon Dooling, Chris Quinn and Jarvis Hayes (Boone and Dooling are the only ones that have NBA jobs now) was supposed to help a team become a playoff contender? Lopez faced nightly double teams, and SVG even stated that if he had to pick any center in the league to back up DH12 in the ASG, it would be Brook Lopez. Amare's contract will be worse than Okafor's in three years tops, and that's a guarantee.

Speaking of relevance:

What has been the head to head record between the Knicks and Nets in the past 10 years?

Who has been to the NBA Finals (twice) in the past 10 years?

Who has won more games in the past 10 years?

And I’m willing to bet anything that we’ll smack them again this year.

I remember when the Knicks were crying like girls because they were getting roughed up in the 1st round by K-Mart and Jason Collins. There will be more beatings soon to come. The Knicks should be embarrassed that they got blown off of the floor by a 12 win team on two separate occasions last year. Try to ingest those eggs.
