The Hornets will try to persuade Paul to remain in New Orleans.

"Paul won't go public with his trade request -- if he did, he'd be subject to a fine under NBA rules -- but those with knowledge of his plans believe his desire to pair up with another superstar (or two) has gained too much momentum to stop," writes Berger.

The Knicks are preparing to make an attractive offer to acquire a superstar talent via trade.

"Team president Donnie Walsh's first step was signing power forward Amar'e Stoudemire to a five-year, $99.9 million deal," Berger writes. "The move wasn't successful in swaying James or Wade, but it represents the first piece of a strategy designed to land Paul, Parker or Anthony -- or perhaps, even two of them.

"According to sources familiar with the Knicks' strategy, part of the reason for orchestrating the sign-and-trade for David Lee -- which yielded young talents Anthony Randolph and Kelenna Azubuike from Golden State -- was to stock the roster with attractive assets that could be used to acquire such marquee players if the opportunities presented themselves."

It'd be nice for either 3 of the teams.

None of these teams have anything close to a good deal for Paul. Unless the Hornets want to take back huge salary from the Magic or Lakers, or get nothing from the Knicks.

I'm hoping for Magic, won't mind the Knicks, I'll be pissed if he goes to the Lakers but they don't got much to offer compared to other teams so I'm not too worried about them.

Although it maybe slim, I think Portland still has a shot at landing him too even though we weren't listed in his top 3. We got really close before the draft and the owner turned it down because "he wasn't ready to part-ways with Paul yet", well now he's forced to so if we build off that offer I'm sure we can find something that NO likes. If that happens, Paul will be more than happy to play in Portland since he's said before he'd like to play with Roy and LA in Portland.

From reports I'm hearing out of New Orleans, demand is a very strong word. It's no secret that he's open to a trade, these are the teams he'd prefer.

Safe to say though, I highly doubt he goes to any of those teams. They don't have much to offer, or won't be willing to part with what it would take to land CP. Then you also have to throw in the fact that it will take a team willing to take on a bad contract also.

Yeah even if it's true, it would take a whole team to get him.

Eddy Curry (expiring contract), Wilson Chandler, fillers (Turiaf's expiring? Buike? Randolph? Picks?)

Paul is washed up anyway. He is damaged goods and no team should give NO equal value for him.

That is one of the most foolish statements I've ever heard. Paul is what, 25? And averaged 19 and 11 in an injury plagued season? You've got to be kidding me.

The Knicks need CP3 - not only because he's a top PG talent (saying he's washed up is ridiculous, you don't stop playing great D and playmaking like he does - and 20 PPG to boot), but it will help us get Carmelo potentially.

Either we can do it now, with Curry, Chandler, Buike/Randolph/Turiaf, picks...

Or

Wait until Dec 15, add in Felton to the trade and take back someone like James Posey or Emeka Okafor.
