Derek Fisher has a meeting scheduled with Miami Heat president Pat Riley on Saturday, according to a source close to the situation.

According to a source, negotiations between Fisher and the Lakers have remained positive and the team has put an offer on the table that was stronger than what's been previously reported (one year, $2.5 million).

"We need to have him back, it's as simple as that," Bryant told ESPNLosAngeles.com's Dave McMenamin at his Kobe Bryant Skills Academy on the UC Santa Barbara campus. "It's not a question of if he will be back; it's a matter of when.

he just wants to get his from la. hes not leaving. i really think miami should look at getting ben wallace or kwame brown. kwame would hold his own with that lineup, all hed need to do is defend and rebound..

Good point. He's just gonna use Miami to upsell and make LA re-sign him. Never thought about that. Miami needs to snag a few more guys in my opinion, Ben Wallace would be alright.

Like Pugz said, all this team needs is defense and rebounding. And probably a couple good shooters.

Is there a possibility of Shaq joining them or what's going on with Shaq?

theres a shot at any free agent left, just depends on what that player wants. i really think they need to target ben wallace or kwame brown before shaq. but shaq is probably first on that list.

Wallace is retiring a Piston or signing here then retiring next year.

Derek Fisher flew to Miami on Friday night on a private plane for a meeting with Pat Riley on Saturday, but was greeted by LeBron James at the airport.

James gave Fisher a recruiting pitch as to why he should join the Heat, according to sources with knowledge of the situation. Negotiations between the Lakers and Fisher remain positive, according to sources close to the discussions.

Fisher sucks
I dont know why Miami would want him

overrated too IMO

i doubt hes leaving, too. but i was just arguing with a friend over how "good" derek is. he says hes a "great player" still, i just lol'd. hes solid, but hes not a starter, he plays well in the system and helps hold that team down but he is NOT a starter.

miami cant appreciate him either
they'd hate him over there

his regular season is horrid

anyways, i think his spot on the team is a little overstated. he's important, but they can win without him
Steve Blake is way way way better

that being said, i love DFish. I know he sucks, but he always finds a way to hit big shots. I want his ass back for sure

i think steve should be starting for the lakers, but if they keep derek he wont be. derek is too slow, he hurts the team because of that.

Fish starts, but Steve Blake is playing way more minutes

Lakers could now get away with playing the backup more.
couldnt do it last year because Farmar is the worst player in the NBA
