The Chicago Bulls have reached out to Phil Jackson to gauge his interest in returning to the franchise he coached during the 1990s, according to two sources with knowledge of the situation.

There has been no direct contact between Bulls officials and Jackson, according to the sources, but people close to both parties have spoken and come away with the belief that Jackson would be open to a potential reunion in Chicago next season.

Chicago GM Gar Forman refused to comment on the club's coaching search when reached Monday night by telephone.

Jackson has said recently there's a "90 percent chance" that if he coaches next season it will be with the Lakers. But Lakers owner Jerry Buss reportedly wants Jackson to take a pay cut from the $12 million salary he's receiving this season.

Would almost be fitting.

Best player in game with best coach in Chicago. That would guarantee I think a 2nd superstar too.

Lebron + Rose + 2nd star with Phil Jackson...give that team the ring

Just stop... I can't even get my hopes up for this kind of <Censored>, because I would be depressed for the rest of my life if I didn't happen.

Right... We have a 0% chance of getting LeBron, you're exactly right. Who would want to play with Derrick Rose anyway? I mean some retard on ESPN did have Brook Lopez as the best sophomore in the league last year. Lopez > Rose for sure.

Phil has it made in L.A.
Kobe's locked up
Pau's locked up
Artest is locked up
Odom is locked up
Bynum is locked up (and he may be traded for Bosh. go ahead and laugh)

I know the Lakers want him to take a pay cut, but it's not as drastic as the 12M to 5M as it was reported

Personally, I dont even care. I want to see Brian Shaw coach

and if he does leave, he'll probably retire.

I'm not saying Chicago isnt attractive, it's just that 1, he's 65. 2, Tex Winter is the architect of the Triangle. He's always been with Phil. He's pushing 90 now and had a stroke last year. No way Phil goes to a place with a bunch of young players and teaches them the Tri without Tex.

It took guys like Odom a few years to learn it, and Artest is just barely getting the hang of it

this is all posturing from Phil's people

Artest being locked up is not a good thing.. Lakers should wish he was expiring this year. Bynum locked up is not a good thing either, and no way do the Raptors sign and trade Bosh for such a health risk on a huge contract. Wont even come close to happening. Odom is a role player.

If LeBron goes to Chicago, I think it is a lock that Phil goes back to Chicago.

He has coached there before as well and obviously had amazing success, which will influence his choice.

only 2 more years after this season for Artest

Odom is still one of the better 6 men

and there have been a few rumblings of Bosh to L.A. recently. only reason im bringing it up

Chad Ford from ESPN said that the two teams spoke earlier in the season, but lakers called it off because of chemistry blah blah. mid season trades are always a risk

but he said that the Lakers are the Raps #1 choice, and they both agreed to talk again after the season.

Artest signed a 5 year deal.

Yea, he is a solid role player, 6th man..

And you have told me that LeBron was signing with the Clippers without a doubt..

Don't laugh but Dwyane Wade and Amare Stoudemire are going to accept the league minimum to play in Cleveland.

If Bynum is traded for Bosh, the NBA should admit they are rigged.

J (Milwaukee): Anyone in the Lakers front office get excited when they were on Bosh's list?

Chad Ford (1:26 PM): No, because they knew about this in February. The Raptors and Lakers had the parameters of a deal in place for a Bosh for Bynum deal. LA eventually pulled out because they were unsure how the addition of Bosh would affect chemistry mid-season and they were concerned that Bosh could bolt via free agency in the summer. Both concerns should go away this summer and the two teams agreed to revisit talks after the playoffs ended. They are in a very good position to land Bosh if that's where he wants to play. It's the Raptors first choice among the sign-and-trade options available to them.

And with Bynum suffering another injury which he will need surgery on in the off-season, and on a large contract, the Raptors will be more reluctant, not to mention Bosh is going to want to go to Chicago when LeBron signs their.

Still can not see it happening. Nor do I think it would be that great for the Lakers. Based on what you said, they would have no "true center." They'd get killed in the paint.

im just throwing it into the crazy summer ideas
something to chew on

back to Phil, he's not going to want to go teach the triangle to a bunch of young players. gonna take too long

he'll either be back with the lakers, or retire

oh look, here we go

from a Laker beat writer's Twitter:
http://twitter.com/KevinDing

Phil about reported Bulls feelers: "I have no -- at all -- desire to go back and coach the Bulls."

Phil did not close door on coaching another team but Lakers yet said: "I just can't imagine it."

On why he doesn't close that door on options but Lakers or retirement, Phil said, smiling: "I've always had trouble committing."
the last one is a joke about his relationship to jeanie buss (owner's daughter). they're married, without being married. catch me?
