I miss Manny :(

15 day DL. SMFH

offense has been bad since he left. only 2 games and 4 innings of another game, but still

he was hitting 400, 2 HR, and driving in runs.
hopefully the Giants and Rockies keep losing too

Pads are in first, but i dont really care. I dont think anyone does

Although we lost yesterday Tex sent Bobby Wilson a "Tex message" last night.

And Andy dominated by striking out 8 over 8 innings as the Yanks dominated today 7-1.

Yeah. The bullpen crushed Romero. So much for that quality start he had.

8 IP, 10 Ks...

Against the Cardinals...

Barry Zito might have found his stuff again. He starts the season 3-0 with this 2-0 win over the Cards.

You guys should listen to me more...and ease up on this dude

i dont know how he got 10 k's tonight

he's still not worth that contract.
he has a nice ERA, but so what. He needs to K more and walk less to be worth that contract (tonight was just one of those nights. first time he had 10 k's since 7/08 vs the Dodgers)

I wouldn't say that mainly because he's never been a strikeout pitcher. He pitches around, so I would expect him to have more BBs than usual.

Right now, he IS worth that contract. He's doing what he is being paid to do, pitch quality innings. 5 quality starts out of 5...

I want this to continue but I can say I am 100% satisfied with Barry Zito right now

You don't make his money to make "quality" starts

he was overpaid the second he got that contract though PM7, thats the thing

i know he's not a power pitcher.

geez, look at his last 3 years in Oakland. Good, above average pitcher. not worth 100+M
what was it again? $127M?

Yeah that guy has talent.

Your team better not screw up his developmental process lol
As long as we keep him as our starting 1B and continue to let him start he should be fine. Im extremely surprised at how well he has adapted to the majors, but obviously pitchers will get a good scouting report on him and he will have to adjust.

But yea I dont really give too much credit to mets prospects, but Ike Davis is the real deal. Great defense, left handed power, and patience at the plate.

Nice to see Brett Wallace playing well in triple A. Kyle Drabek and Travis D'aurnaud have been pretty good too.

Youk and Scutaro both hit 3-run homers last night and the Sox still just barely beat the O's. Bullpen has been shaky the last couple days.

Gotta say, Brian Matusz is going to be ridic. He threw a curve to VMart that would have made Zito's knees buckle.

I'm sorry guys, my bad

4 quality starts out of 4. His only ND was against the Dodgers when Sergio Romo blew that save

3-0, 1.32 ERA, 15 H, 8 BB, 19 K, .161 BAA

I have to admit Zito has changed up his pitching and its been working. But its still early and I know a lot of guys who start hot and dont end the year well, we will see.

I would love to thank the 2010 Baltimore Orioles for possibly putting together a worse team inside their profession than the 09-10 Nets did this year...
