Even the people on espn and other experts are saying willis's fastball and other pitches are getting back to the speeds they use to be and he is throwing much better than he has in the last few years. You guys will see Willis comeback this year.

That's a pretty bold prediction. I thought DTrain was gonna bounce back last year but he didn't last that long.

We've been listening to this Dontrelle Willis argument for the past 2 years. Willis and Greinke aren't even in the same boat, not a good comparison. Grienke needed to mature while Willis' awkward style and delivery was never consistent to begin with & he has serious confidence issues.

He seems confident now, and he has Leyland completely behind him. To put him at #3, Willis must be absolutely pumped.
He pitched a couple of solid games last year.

I'm not saying he will come back, but I hope he does. But don't count him out until the season starts at least. Dude really does deserve to have a comeback.

Oh yes, quite the class act.
Please, a DUI is hardly the marking of a classless character. Stupid? Yes. Classless? No. And it's not like he put up a huge struggle or made a huge deal about it. He got caught and that was pretty much the end of it.

BtheW, I'm assuming you think Joba Chamberlain, to give one example, is quite the class act, huh?

Hey man, you leave Joba Chamberlain outta this! The "Joba Rules" apply to more than just on the mound.

That dates back to 2006 anyways. But exactly what Baggs said.

Did I say anything about Joba being a class act? No, I didn't.

Fine but, then, you're blindly grouping him into the "classless" category just because he was arrested for a DUI. My point is that if everyone that was guilty of a DUI was then considered classless then we'd have a whole hell of a lot of classless people...including a very high percentage of athletes.

Dontrelle Willis will never be a good pitcher ever again. He was only good because he pitched in a weak division/league, and because of his awkward delivery. The delivery masked his mediocre pitches, and made due for a few years. Now, he's done... He's never had 'good stuff'.

lol I find it funny how the guys who bag on Zito all the time have so much faith in Dontrelle Willis...

At least Zito can keep a spot on a MLB roster <_<

If Willis can pick it up this year I'd be happy for him. I want to see him succeed but thats something I doubt will happen.

That's the thing. Knowing the difference between succeeding and "returning to form". He won't be dominant again.

But can he succeed? Sure. I would see anything around 10+ wins, atleast 150 IP, and an ERA under 5 as a success for Willis.

I never have expected Willis to go back to top form lol. I'm just hoping for a solid season out of him.
