Barkley made this night SOMEWHAT enjoyable, everything else blew. As far as I'm concerned, the NBA should just do away with the "Dunk Contest" if the real stars won't participate. All of the other contests are dry because we've seen them so much, and HORSE is just stupid. Play the Rookie/Sophomore game before the Allstar game on Sunday nights and let that be that.

Oh yeah..I want becky hammon to have my kid. I love her
Shes so dope.

I love Chuck.

This night was.. a let down.

They need to bring back the old school dunk contest rules, 8 guys and like 6 rounds(?). Its super weak like this.

It has been bad, but it could have been a lot worse.
The dunk contest was ass though, Stern really needs to change this shit.

The problem was they didn't pick any flashy dunkers aside from Derozan but he didn't bring anything to the table.. Nate is kind of flashy but it takes him at least 3 tries per dunk.

The problem is, even with all the misses the contest is only 20 minutes.
I wait for this every year, I wanna see a dunk contest last an hour. We need more out of this, this is classic event and its been shitty the last 5 years.

It's become about the antics nowadays and that i dont care for. I dont care for nate having cheerleaders on the court for no reasons. Like maple said its about creativity and there was only 1 decent creative dunk tonight. The top stars <Censored> out every year. Nate and dwight killed the dunk contest.

Exactly. You here TNT and all these other guys talk about the dunk contest and say it was a step below this year and when new guys like Nate, Dwight, and others brought it back few years ago. That's BS, I can't remember the last actual exciting dunk contest.

Another thing, I can't stand when people say we've seen it all, that there is no other types of dunks out there. That's like saying there's no new genre's of music left to be discovered/created. It's just a cop out so people can get lazy. It's time for people to start thinking outside of the box.

IMO, The weekend should go down as follows:

Day 1: Rookie/Sophomore game, most of the activities (Team Competition, Skill Contest, ect.)

Day 2: All-Star Game. After game, have the top guys of the game in a dunk contest.

lol you know whats funny.
last year a ton of laker fans were wanting Shannon in the dunk contest. I was like, I dont think he'll do good. he's more of an in game dunker

but as time went by, and he actually got in, i had to pull for him. im not not pulling for a laker (unless it's farmar)

ok here we go.
I had to miss it live, but i recorded everything and just finished watching it.
wow. everything sucked.

Horse sucked.
Shooting stars got boring quick.
3 point shootout was ok
and the dunk contest, yikes.
Nate was good and im glad he won, but this is the worst dunk contest i've ever seen, and i've seen em all since 2002. and no, im not just saying that cause shannon lost. he deserved to

this means the ASG will suck. especially no kobe
whatever. tuesday Lakers/W's

I never said Dwight or Nate helped this.
