From:Realgm.com

ESPN Rumors - Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha was talking about playing for the Jets while in Miami for the Pro Bowl this past weekend.

Asomugha told ESPN.com that he was "dead serious" about it.

"Me and Revis have been talking to Rex [Ryan] to try to do something," Asomugha said. "You may see us in the future. There's a little bit of talk going on. Either he's coming to Oakland or something else will happen."

It's highly unlikely that the Jets could afford both Asomugha and Darrelle Revis, but the Oakland defensive back is hoping otherwise.

Oh hell, I hope the Bengals never see the Jets again, this team is going to get real scary in the next few years. I can't imagine with those two CB's playing on the same team what would happen, it wouldn't be pretty for opposing teams..

Asomugha: Jets Talk Was A Joke

San Francisco Chronicle - Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha says that comments made about playing for the Jets this past weekend were a joke.

Asomugha told the San Francisco Chronicle on Tuesday "the story is totally overblown" about him saying he wants to play for the Jets with Darrelle Revis.

The Pro Bowler said it was a two-way joke that took on a life of its own.

"The only thing we were 'dead serious' about was the fact that it would be fun to one day play on the same team," Asomugha said by email.

"That's all. We were two guys enjoying the Pro Bowl and completely clowning around during the week. We were playfully recruiting each other; I was talking about getting him to Oakland and vice versa."

No offense to Bailey and Bly two great corners but they don't even come close to Revis and Asomugha. This is great news for opposing teams, lol - That would be a deadly combination, glad it was a joke.

no you didn't just say Champ Bailey doesn't come close to those two. The dude has made every single pro bowl this decade. Revis and Asomugha can only dream to one day be at Champs level, especially Revis.

Champ Bailey is past his prime, no longer a top 3 shutdown corner in the league and Dre' Bly!?! Are you serious? I won't even get into how washed up he is because it goes without saying that the guy has been overrated most of his career.

My comment was about back in 2004 when they were together. I'm fully aware of both corners today. You know me better than that man.

Bly was overrated even then, but I must admit Bailey this decade has been a force.

Champ Bailey was good back in his day but I'd take Revis & Asomugha over them in a heart beat. I think Revis & Asomugha are better even when Bailey & Bly were in their prime but that's just me, Revis & Asomugha need to show they can keep it going year in year out, which I believe they will.
