The day everyone starts trying to say Deron is better then CP3. CP3 comes out and pours out 30 points, 19 assists and 9 rebounds.

me and you both pugz

Deron is better scorer
better shooter
bigger
better on ball defender
deceptively quick. CP is faster, but Deron isnt that slow
just as good a passer
better rebounder
less injured
to me Chris Paul is a stat gunner and DWill truly wants to win more. but thats just me

if i had to pick 1, i would take DWill
Eh, I don't agree.

CP has a 20 ppg career average, Deron has 17.

CP is shooting 53% from the field and 49% from three, Deron is shooting 49% from the field and 38% from three.

Well of course he is bigger.

CP has averaged 2.4 steals per game over his career, Deron only 1. I know that doesn't prove who's better, but it certaintly plays a factor.

Don't really see the point in this.

I really disagree that he's just as good passing the ball, if you watch CP and the way he finds his teammates, it's uncontested by anyone other than Steve Nash.

CP over his career has averaged 5 boards per game, Deron only 3. I don't see how you can say Deron is a better rebounder.

Deron plays in 67 games per season, CP plays in 63. So while Deron is healthy more often, it's not a big difference.

The last statement is truely idiotic, Deron wants to win and CP is going for numbers? That's so stupid I can't even put it into words. The ONLY thing CP cares about is winning. If he cared about numbers so much, why didn't he go for his first career 20-20 game tonight? Why whenever he puts up a triple double or something, he says I'm just happy we got a w or when they lose he says he would give it up for a w?

CP honors: ROY, 1st team all nba, 2nd team all nba, 2 all star appearances, led the league in assists and steals twice, 2 highest PERs for a pg in NBA history, 2nd in MVP voting(hell receiving an MVP vote is more than williams can say)

Williams honors: Selected to the Rookie-Sophomore game...and ummmm well thats it.

One of the steals of the draft so far. Glad he finally got the starting job he earned.

lol and Deron has 2 points 4 assists

the whole Deron/CP thing is weird for me.

yeah CP has the accolades and stats, but I would still take Deron over him.

and nola, it is a travesty that Deron has never been an all-star. he's had some bad luck
he will be this year though

I was gonna make a post earlier asking you about Gilbert Arenas and winning the MVP, and then he went off tonight lol. But he still has been far from an MVP this year :p

CP has the bigger name and Deron is a quiter player with not as much flair so the masses say CP

I would say Paul has the advantage by a small amount. Deron is always overlooked though

Skills wise, CP3 > D.Will

D.Will isn't far behind skills wise, but he's just a bigger problem match up wise because he's bigger & stronger.

Married Forever.. or for the next 4 years:
Pau Gasol has agreed to a three year extension to his deal with the Lakers, keeping him with the team through 2014. Pen should hit ink in the next few days.

The exact terms of the deal will not be known for two years, because it will depend somewhat on the next CBA to begin in 2011. But it likely will be in the low $60 million dollar range for the three years.

That the Lakers would re-sign Gasol is not a shock, but the timing shows how badly they wanted to keep him in the fold. Lakers brass realizes that Gasol and Kobe — who is working an extension, or who may opt out this summer and re-sign with the team — are the keys to titles down the line. They have been together two years, and have been to the Finals twice. You need other good players to do that, but Kobe and Pau are the stars at the heart of the success.

Eh, yeah I guess so. But there are a ton of quality guards in the West.

Reking havoc

dude's gonna be something great
he reminds me of a bigger DWade

once he develops a consistent jumper like Wade has, yikes.
and he plays D!
love young players who play D

Anything short of a full on blowout against OKC is going to make me worried about Cleveland. Successful road trip in terms of the W/L columns, but hardly played like the Lakers that they could be. Good thing when the Lakers play the stronger teams they play a lot more focused, hopefully that's just the case here; bored against weaker teams, and focused against the stronger ones.
