MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The Allen Iverson experiment with the Memphis Grizzlies is over.

The Memphis Grizzlies announced Monday in a statement that the team has ended its one-year contract with the 10-time All-Star and former league MVP in what it called a mutual agreement.

Iverson began an indefinite leave of absence on Nov. 7 to deal with a personal issue after playing only three games with Memphis, all in California.

General manager Chris Wallace says they agreed Iverson is stepping away from the game to focus on those personal matters.

Wallace says the Grizzlies wish Iverson the best.

Wonder what happens now. Retires? Or will he try to play somewhere else, like Charlotte?

Well that's why I figured they'd do it, and the fact Brown coaches the team.
If they are taking the risk for S-Jack, might as well give Iverson a chance while your at it.

He must now battle personal issues, pondering why no one wants him and thinks that he's not a franchise player anymore. AI has himself fooled. He's still a very good scoring option though, having him in Charlotte would really give them the scoring they need.

"Several league execs think he's probably played his last NBA game."

He just needs to give it up. Basketball is a team game and he never gripped the team concept.

I kind of feel bad for him, like Whisper said, he is still a very good scoring option. Could easily put up 17 a game I think as a starter. But he also can't play team basketball.

I used to be a huge fan when I was little. I have a size small blue 76ers Iverson jersey. Lol. But the more I larned about basketball, the more I disliked him. I hate him now.

fine with me

i never understood the fascination with him. never been a fan personally
Your so full of it. The guy was a monster in his prime. I think everybody in here will concede that he is a hofer. Ill never forget his finals run with 2000-01 sixers.

I loved the guy back then too, and in the same way I can't stand him now.

As much as we blew ass hole, I'm happy to say I got to see a future HoFer play for my favorite NBA team. Dude was way past his prime, but still a hell of a player. Still wish Curry would of let him do his thing.

he was always "whatever" with me.

Props to AI, he really was a guy that could carry a team by himself. I mean c'mon, his running mates were guys like Eric Snow, Aaron McKie, and Mutumbo who was just a defensive force. Nothing really special on the sixers outside of AI, 2001 was miraculous, but that was then, this is now.

Donnie Walsh confirmed that the Knicks are interested in signing Allen Iverson once the guard clears waivers.

Iverson and the Grizzlies parted ways after a tumultuous start to the season.
Before the season I wanted to see AI in NY, but I dont see the point in it now.

Gallo has played way better then I ever expected. And he could just hurt the progress if our younger guys by taking minutes away from them, namely Toney Douglas

If he's brought in, and makes a difference, then good. But I dont think its needed.

Then why do you love Brandon Jennings? I don't know if its just me but he seems just like AI..
