After serving his required three years in the Israeli army, Omri Casspi was discharged shortly before this June's NBA draft and was selected by the Kings in the first round with the No. 23 pick.
Many, including some in the Kings organization, believed Casspi was a sniper in the army. But as Casspi explains to the Jewish Journal, that's just not true.
"I don't know where that rumor started," Casspi said. "I wasn't a sniper. It's not true. I was in basic training. But I did hold a gun, and I shot a lot."
