Though he was brought in to compete for the starting job, Jeff Garcia was cut by the Oakland Raiders today.

Though Garcia had a decent 3rd game pre-season showing, NBCSports.com's Mike Florio reports Garcia's release.

The first big veteran release of the off-season.
