Tavaris Jackson might've been the worst starting QB in the league last season, darn close to it for sure. Rosenfels has good moments but at the same time there's nothing special to him. If Favre comes in healthy and is playing at the level he is capable of playing, the Vikings have a legitimate shot to win the Super Bowl.

Why defend this guy? Because he's one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game of football, a guy I looked up to as a little kid, etc. He's a great quarterback as long as he stays healthy. Based on his career resume, I don't expect to see him get hurt again.

1. Vikings
2. Packers
3. Bears
4. Lions
Notice how I have not mentioned Tavaris Jackson once. Anyone is better then him, I realize. Rosenfels is a good player, not a top QB obviously, but I don't consider Favre a top tier QB either.. Not to mention he has a tear in his rotator cuff, so there is still a chance of injury..

So because I said the Bears won't win it, the Lions will? The Packers or Vikings will, the Vikings have the best chance.
The Bears finally have a QB and it looks like the Vikes will aswell, I think it will come down to the Vikes and Bears but the Bears will come out on top.

Bears have no one for Cutler to throw to. Hester isn't a #1 option. Olsen is gonna have to step up for the Bears. Packers and Vikings are going to fight for the division title.

They finally have a QB, but he has no weapons to throw to...

Why do the Vikings even want him, he's probably not even better then Sage Rosenfelts at this point in his career.

Does Favre's arm (which he broke last season) scare anybody at this point in his career? Does Favre suddenly open up the downfield passing game? Does Favre provide for a defensive distraction towards Adrian Peterson? All are a NO.

The only think Favre can offer us, that Jack & Sage can't, is the veteran instinct of knowing when to just take a sack. As much as I would like to add "not force the ball" in there too, Favre has made a career of trying to force the ball in there.

Remember how excited Jets fans were right now last season? Remember how they suddenly though ol' Brett was going to get them over in the AFC East? ....go ask Jet fans how they feel about Favre now.

actually, favre was the answer for us until he got hurt. at one point we were 8-3 and were in complete control of our destiny. then brett got hurt, threw 3 times as many picks as touchdowns, and our season went down the drain. <_<

Your point here makes absolutely no sense. Anybody with a brain knows that Favre played fantastic in the first, what, 11 games of the season? They were 8-3 and Favre had 20 TDs 13 INTs, which is very good, far better than either QB for the Vikings could ever do.

Then he got hurt, and he through 9 INTs to just 2 TDs in the last 5 games. The Jets lost 4 of 5, and missed the playoffs. If Brett Favre stays healthy, that team goes 11-5 and they contend for the Super Bowl, and that's the bottom line.

Obviously if he isn't 100%, this isn't a move that will benefit the Vikings. But if he's 100%, which I have a strong feeling he is, this move propels the Vikings into a Super Bowl Contender.

Thank you! Nice to know someone watched the entire season last year, unlike AE...

I don't think Brett Farve will ever be 100% healthy. He's just that age where one hard sack can do some damage. I like Brett and I hope everything goes well for him, I can just hear Packer fans now.

So I guess an 8-3 start didn't mean jacksh.. Really nice to know how much you value those first 11 games of a 17 game season CC. I mean to draw all your conclusions around part of a season. Don't call me out on Football CC, this isn't Duke we're talking about and in here I know what I am talking about.

Some packers fans thought on the matter....

The only words which come to mind, is that Brett Favre, someone who I used to admire as a child, is that favre needs to eat a d***. I'm sorry if that is inappropiate, but I really want to express my feelings on this. Sorry to the Mods if its unexceptable, but I feel that Brett should not be accepted in our society. Everyone should burn down the Favre House of Steaks
At least we can now see what kind of a spineless coach Childress is by allowing Favre to once again get his way and not have to participate throughout all of Training Camp. I'm so tired of all this garbage. Now I can't watch ESPN, ESPNews, or ESPN2 for the next week cause this is all it's going to be covereing. At least it's over for now and Favre can come back and play the only two games he really wants to play against Green Bay. Good luck Vikings Fans, I don't see him as your missing piece, I think you're still in the same boat as you were with Sage. Except now you have to deal with all the crap that comes with Brett. So if the Vikings don't work out does he re-re-retire and then un-un-unretire and play for the Bears??!! Ha, what a joke. His whole legacy, to me, is now a laughing matter.
i just got 2 Favre jerseys from Savers last weekend. ONly paid $6 a piece for them. 1 fits, 1 doesn't. I think I'll wear one as underwear on game days, then burn the other.

I just feel sick. While I agree, he's not a Packer and can do whatever he wants. This just hurts.
this dude has no shame?

i would be embarrassed to walk in that locker room and show my face.

they been busting their butt for months...and he's just going to stroll in on his high horse? fukk that.

i hope aaron rodgers puts up 5tds/game when they play.
AE is right packer fans are sick. And this last piece I leave you with comes from Jetnation.

17 game season, lol. Anyways, the fact that Favre led the Jets to an 8-3 start showed he still had the ability that's needed to be a high level quarterback in the NFL. Like I said, if he's healthy, this turns the Vikings from just a playoff team into a Super Bowl contender. You act like Favre is about the same level as David Carr, Sage Rosenfels, Kellen Clemens, etc. He's a Pro Bowl QB if he stays healthy for 16 games, just look at his stats when he's healthy from last season.

So "I guess an 8-3 start didn't mean jacksh.." is a false statement. If you don't think this move makes the Minnesota Vikings a much better football team, you're crazy and not worth debating with. "His only difference will be knowing when to take a sack", that's absolute bull. Like I've said over and over and will continue to say, if Brett Favre is 100%, the Vikings improve dramatically. He's ten steps ahead of what Rosenfels or Jackson would've done in that offense, bottom line.
