I cant wait to watch Yankees vs. Red Sox tonight. Joba against Smoltz should be really fun to watch.

Now time for a HUGE series against the Twins. Let's hope Galarraga decides to pitch well tomorrow. Then give it to JV and hopefully Washburn can get us a win.

Smoltz is going to find a way. His biggest issue has been command, or lack thereof. Smoltz has only pitched two regular-season games against New York in his career, posting a 4.50 ERA in two no-decisions, so there isnt much to rely upon.

True, but the way the season has gone for him so far, things aren't looking bright. Especially with Chamberlain on the mound. Bay is sitting out the first two games and I think Drew still has a sore something (he's always hurt)

Im still going to watch, I need to take advantage of my vacation and being back at home in Ny. The Mets play at 10pm anyways so I have time to watch the other game. Smoltz has had good accuracy with his pitches though, he's only walked like 6 batters in 30 IP or something like that.

Joba Chamberlain hit Evan Longoria, Rays did nothing but Garza said that it's not something they'll forget..meaning they'll get him back another time.

That's what could have been done. If I got hit in the bottom of the 9th during a 14 run game, I'd be pretty pissed too. At that point, it's really not necessary.

then in the 8th down buy like 13, they hit pierre.
it may have been an accident, but manny has been hit a lot lately. pierre getting hit was an accident, but so what.
dodgers had to retaliate right then and there.

Longoria said he didn't think Joba hit him intentionally. Longoria getting hit was an added bonus for Garza in addition to getting used as batting practice to hit Teixeira (who he hit in retaliation) or A-Rod.

Chris Carpenter is leading the league in ERA. I knew he would come back to his old self, he was just too good not to. He is just getting into a nice groove at the right time. Cardinals can win the central if they can get some good starts from Waynewright and Piniero.

i believe the 2nd place team of the central gets the WC.
