Former star
Hes pitched better this year than the last 2. Next year could be a great year once he gets some run support...if Sabean would stop being cheap and go out and get some hitters!

lmao, Jamey Carroll just homered, that's when you know everything in the game is going your way, 8-0 Indians, Laffey 7 shut out innings with 7 Ks.

If Greinke doesn't get the Cy Young I'm going to be pissed, he is seriously the only bright spot for the Royals. Plus he has been the best pitcher in the AL all year long, stats don't lie

I felt the same about LinCy last year.

Greinke is the darkhorse right now IMO if Halladay stays

IDK why the hell Hammel started that game. They got better pitchers than him.

DENVER -- The Giants caught the Rockies in the Wild Card chase as they beat their division rival, 3-1, Friday in front of 40,524 at Coors Field.

The win gives the Giants and Rockies identical records at 52-44. The two teams still have two games left in this weekend's three-game series and will play each other 12 more times overall.

Matt Cain impressed many Cy Young Award voters as he carried a no-hitter through 4 2/3 innings before Ian Stewart broke it up with a single to right field. Cain ran into two-out trouble in the sixth with a double, a walk and an RBI double by Garrett Atkins. He escaped when he struck out All-Star Brad Hawpe looking on a 1-2 slider to preserve the two-run lead.

Cain (12-2) picked up the win as he yielded an earned run on three hits with four walks and five strikeouts in seven innings. He threw 117 pitches, his third-highest total this season. Brian Wilson locked down the ninth for his 25th save.

While Cain was masterful on the mound, Fred Lewis was magical with his bat. Lewis doubled down the right-field line in the fourth, moved to third on Pablo Sandoval's single and scored on Bengie Molina's double play to give the Giants a 1-0 lead. Nate Schierholtz also homered in the frame, his fourth of the season, to push the lead to 2-0. In the sixth, Lewis hit a shot into the left-center-field gap for a triple and scored when Molina singled to right to give the Giants a 3-0 lead. Lewis had an infield single in the first. He missed the cycle when he walked on five pitches in the eighth.
read it and like it George

Greinke= 10-6 (on the worst team in the AL), 2.04 ERA (leads AL), 146 SO (2nd in AL), 5 CG (leads AL), 2 SO (leads AL), 141.1 IP (3rd in AL), 2nd best K to BB ratio in AL, only 5 HR allowed

Halladay= 11-3, 2.62 ERA, 123 SO, 1 advantage he has over greinke is 7 less walks, 4 CG, 1 SO, 10 HR allowed

I think Greinke should get it because hes the only good thing about that team but Halladay will probably win it simply because of his W/L, good ERA, and CGs

Halladay is a bigger name though and that does play into to no matter how much we won't believe it

Greinke should get it though and has a good chance of it

In the NL, its between Cain, Lincecum, and Haren. Thats a toss up IMO

Cliff Lee showed it's not about name, he beat Halladay for the Cy young, and Greinke is having a better year then Lee.

And if you think Greinke should win, shouldn't Haren?

I didn't say he shouldn't but Lince-Cain is tough to beat. Haren is killing though
