honestly, a lot of players are deciding to go to legit teams this year. it's like sorta unfair to all the other teams that really need the help. haha
No it's not, they want to win. Nothing wrong with that.

The Detroit Pistons are expected to take a serious look at Glen "Big Baby' Davis and have the financial ability to offer most of their midlevel exception. Boston is still very interested, as are New Orleans, Cleveland, and Charlotte, according to the Boston Globe.

The Hornets, however, would only be able to acquire Davis via a sign-and-trade, and the Cavaliers and Bobcats are limited financially. If the Pistons are serious about Davis, they would likely have to come up with a lucrative, creative, and possibly lengthy deal to keep the Celtics from matching the offer sheet, which they would have seven days to do.

lol, Pistons to offer Glen Davis our MLE, haha we don't have an MLE this season. I guess he would help though. He'd add to our youth and be another big body. But we'd still need another Center(or atleast a good one)

If the Knicks don't sign Grant Hill, free-agent point guard Andre Miller could be their fallback plan.

A team source indicated that New York could turn their attention to Miller if Hill elects to re-sign with the Suns.

The Knicks could offer Miller a deal worth the mid-level exception, although is he rumored to be looking for significantly more.
It'd be a better move then bringing in Hill IMO, Miller is a better option then Duhon at point, but like the article says he probably wouldnt want the MLE, but if the Sixers dont bring him back, then he doesnt really have many options.

The Trail Blazers extended an offer to restricted free-agent forward Paul Millsap on Friday, according to sources.

The offer is worth between $32-$36 million over four years, and signifies that Portland isn't willing to wait for possible trades.

With that said, the Blazers are expected to continue pushing for a trade involving power forward Carlos Boozer.

Utah will have a week to match the offer, which is believed to include a substantial signing bonus in hopes that the Jazz won't do just that.

The Mavericks expect the Magic to decline to match their midlevel exception offer to restricted free agent Marcin Gortat.

But the big man is hearing otherwise in Orlando.

"I have a feeling now they (Magic) are going to match it,'' Gortat told Fanhouse today between Summer League Games. "That's what I'm hearing, they will match. We'll have to see, but I'm kind of down right now. Either way, I'll end up on a pretty good team.''

That'd be a bummer for Gortat, who gets paid either way but wants the chance to become a starter for the Mavericks.

It was thought that the Magic signing Brandon Bass to a four-year, $18 million deal further increased the odds that they wouldn't match the offer to Gortat. But Orlando GM Otis Smith told Fanhouse that bringing Bass to town doesn't have anything to do with their decision on Gortat.

"I've said all along, I think the number (his contract) is a little high,'' Smith said. "But that doesn't change how we think. One thing (signing Bass) doesn't have anything to do with the other (matching Gortat). I'm still working on a few other things, and until those transpire, it's kind of premature to say what we're going to do.''
Sometimes, you have to trust your sources.

What I'm hearing is that the Mavericks are very likely to end up with Marcin Gortat, despite the 6-11 center's comments online to the contrary.

The players are not normally the ones that hear first that they are being kept or sent on.

All I can say is that the Mavericks seem pretty darn confident about this thing. I'm not saying there is a deal here. But I think the fact that Donnie Nelson has known Otis Smith since the Golden State days may help the situation here.

They know they are going to have to do business down the road.

Bottom line: Gortat is going to be a Maverick. That's the betting favorite right now.
Take it how you want, it would be ridiculous for the Magic to match the offer IMO

And if they do match it they are trying to become classless.....because we were the ones who suggested to make it a 4 team deal so they could get a trade exception for Hedo....plus they're getting Bass. So unless the Magic GM is looking to make enemies, I doubt he'll match.

Nate Robinson has yet to receive an offer sheet as a restricted free agent.

The New York Daily News reports that there is an increasing chance that the guard will accept the Knicks' one-year, $2.9 million qualifying offer.
Come on back Nate. Give us at least one more year in NY, get your big time deal from us next year.

How far is far apart? Lamar Odom is believed to be seeking at least a $10 million contract from the Lakers. The Lakers aren’t willing to part with that kind of dough because of salary cap and luxury tax issues. The deal the Lakers were reportedly offering was for around $7 million.

But the sides might not be as far apart as that. Ronnie Lester, assistant GM, told me Saturday that he heard the Lakers offer now a“little north of $8 million” and he expected a deal to get done.

I heard it's BS, but if it did happen there is no question we are one if not the deepest team in the NBA with JET and either MArion or JH5 coming off the bench
