The New Jersey Nets are in advanced discussions to send Vince Carter(notes) to the Orlando Magic for Rafer Alston(notes), Tony Battie(notes) and Courtney Lee(notes), a source with knowledge of the negotiations told Yahoo! Sports.

If the Nets move Carter, they will draft Louisville shooting guard Terrence Willams at No. 11, if he’s still available.

The source categorgized the deal as “close” and it could be consummated by the end of the night.

This must mean that Turkoglu wont be back, good move for the Magic, VC still got it in him to be a huge factor. Can't wait to boo him when he comes to Toronto in a Magic jersey. Would they still have cap room for Hedo?

Vince Carter is heading home, to central Florida -- and he's bringing Ryan Anderson with him.

The Nets have agreed in principle to trade their leading scorer and major gate attraction to the Orlando Magic in exchange for three players, which will effectively help them clear more than $18 million off their 2010-11 salary cap.

Coming to New Jersey are point guard Rafer Alston, power forward Tony Battie, and shooting guard Courtney Lee.

Anderson will be sent to Orlando in a separate deal for Orlando's trade exception.

It is now likely that the Nets will lean toward drafting a two-guard to take Carter's place, such as Terrence Williams. If that isn't the case, Lee -- a very promising player who was otherwise abused by Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals -- will fight Chris Douglas-Roberts for the starting job.

I juts woke up and truen to ESPN News and saw it on the breaking news bottom line.

Its crazy how all the Eastern conference powers feel they need to make a move, I think this was a panic move by Orlando after Shaq to the Cavs

But it was the best panic move Ive seen lol, this moves almost all but guareentees Hedo is out, and I read somewhere in this thread that it wont be enough shots for all four guys and thats the truth.

The Nets should be happy about Courtney Lee though, Rafer is the backup PG they've neen looking for, so its a good deal for both sides.

They're doing this because they can't come to an agreement with Hedo...
