Sweet!! I would not stand the 2 weeks that the Vikings would play the Packers. Sux for the Vikings though cuz with Favre they would be an early Super Bowl favorite.

I'm really glad he's made this choice. Guys had a great career but its time hang up the cleats and leave them hangin.

His body just cant do it anymore, hopefully we wont hear these rumors anymore.

The Vikings would have way too many demands for Favre, demands that I am sure Favre wouldn't want to deal with. Not only would they require him to get his bicep surgically repaired but they would mostly likely require him to part-take in a full off-season program.

Favre, on the other hand, wants to let his arm heal naturally and at his age, isn't all about the camps & OTA's at this point.

Here's the Catch 22...Favre wasn't all that good last season & as John Clayton pointed out, he discovered how tough it is at his age to jump into the season with a whole new team, not having a full off-season program under his belt.

You do the math & it just doesn't add up. As a Viking fan I really didn't care either way but I figured we had nothing to lose by signing him. I just would of loved to see the drama in Green Bay.

Good, i`m glad he made this choice. Although, I still have my doubts that it`s true. Just have to wait and see.

Couldnt agree more. After such a poor season, if he wanted to continue playing he should have stuck with the Jets. They may not have been the best option and yes they went through a lot of changes this offseason, but atleast he'd still have the same to deal with.

At his age its time to hang it up because his body is shot, he wants to heal naturally like you said AE, and the Vikings wouldn't want him to do that.

I think the Vikings would be too nervous allowing Favre to heal naturally. Not only does the healing process take a little longer naturally, in this situation, but there's also that fear it won't heal enough & he re-injures.

Anybody think Favre should of taken GB's intial deal of $20M a year to do nothing but stay away from other teams?

And not completely tarnish your legacy in Green Bay.

You know the guy is just itching to take the field at Lambeau wearing purple and torch the Pack.

Unfortunately he just physically doesn't have the ability to do so.

of course he wants to but like you just said, hes so badly hurt that nobody will want him to heal naturally. I think even if he got the surgery or healed normally, he'd still end up hitting an injury next year if he played because he just doesnt have that physicality to take hits and be as productive and yet maintain his health.

I still can't get over how personal this guy took his exit from Green Bay.

it was disgusting to watch.

After the first few days I just stopped paying attention, i couldn't bare to watch the man ruin what he had built up in Green Bay.

He will return if he doesn't need major shoulder surgery.

Yes, this report was 100% untrue.

Favre sent his latest shoulder x-rays to the Vikings yesterday.

I hope he comes back and leads the league in INTs and the Vikings don't make the playoffs just so he realizes he can't play anymore and we don't have to deal with this drama queen.

Basically just like last year with the Jets then.
