DANA POINT, Calif. -- When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell considers Michael Vick's potential return to professional football from his indefinite suspension, he will be looking for evidence that the Atlanta Falcons quarterback is truly sorry for the mistakes he made.

"I'm not going to make a judgment until I know all the facts on Michael Vick," Goodell said Wednesday at the league's winter meetings, according to USA Today. "I think it's clear he's paid a price, but to a large extent he's going to have to demonstrate to the larger community -- not just to the NFL community and to me -- that he has remorse for what he did and that he recognizes mistakes that he made. " "Everyone makes mistakes, but he has to show that genuine remorse in his ability to be a positive influence to correct the things that he did wrong publicly," he added, according to the report.

Vick is nearing the end of a 23-month federal prison sentence after pleading guilty to bankrolling a dogfighting ring. As of Wednesday, he was being transported from federal prison in Leavenworth, Kan., on his way to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy hearing, scheduled for April 2 in Newport News, Va.

Vick, who was once the NFL's highest-paid player, owes millions of dollars to creditors. He is also facing fresh charges from the U.S. Department of Labor that he illegally withdrew more than $1.3 million from a pension plan of a company he owned.

His plan for paying his creditors is based largely on his intention to resume his NFL career. The Falcons still hold the contract rights to Vick but have said they will try to trade him. Vick's bankruptcy plan would allow him to keep the first $750,000 of his annual pay. After that, a percentage would go to his creditors based on a sliding scale.

On Wednesday, Goodell acknowledged that Vick has already paid a price for his mistakes, according to USA Today. But Goodell didn't hint at whether that will factor into his decision, or whether Vick could be reinstated for the 2009 season.

"I haven't sat down and looked at his case," Goodell said, according to the report. "I haven't met with him. I haven't understood where he is. I'm not going to try to guess."

So Pacman shoots at Humans and almost kills one, while Vick killed animals

And Pacman had no problem getting the reinstatement, but Vick has to be looked at closely for what?

They're just <Censored>ing stupid Dogs!!!!!! Not Humans! Killing a human vs killing a dog(s) Hmmm..... it doesn;'t take much of a brain to realize which is worse!

No, that's not what i'm saying. I'm saying that i hate people who say it's worse to kill an animal than a human. Especially when it's a dog. Look, i just think it's retarded how Pacman got off easy and he almost killed HUMANS. He shot at them to kill them, doesn;t matter if he was drunk or not, he did it on purpose. And he got off easy, but Vick has to be viewed closely to come back? and oh yeah he went to jail for a longer time too! That's retarded. It might not be right to kill anything but Humans> Dogs imo!

And as for that guy talking about Noah's ark and all that stuff, look i don't care! How do you know if i believe in that? Like i siad before, i don't believe in things just because everyone else does.

I've actually never heard anybody say that its worse to kill an animal than a human...you just made that up. I've heard its just as bad to kill an animal as a human...but that's a completely different story.

Pacman brought his posse to club, made it "rain" thousands of dollars, causing a riot that resulted in one of his associates shooting a bouncer. Though Pacman's role means he is no angel, he didn't pull the trigger & he didn't force his "homie" to pull the trigger. Different story than Michael Vick who was pretty much the brains and financial support behind his entire operation. Vick personally took part in every single step and process of his crime. Pacman was more or less guilty by association.

But honestly...I understand why a guy would go into a strip club and toss thousands of dollars into the air. I may even understand why somebody would shoot another person during a riot...though I don't agree with it. What I don't understand, what I find unbelievable, what I find just unlike any other human being...sick, twisted, f'd up, and demented...how anybody could sit there and watch any species fight to the death...and <Censored>ing enjoy it. And to think that was a hobby of his!?! He needs some serious help, like psychotherapy because he's a twisted individual.
