I was looking at the wrong statistic when I said wrong to Yankees2772 on his first attempt.
I'm an idiot.
Hoyt Wilhelm has 124 wins as a reliever.

"Yanks is not here right now...please leave a message..."

Q: What did Charles Finley replace the infamous "White Elephant" sleeve logo of the A's with, upon purchasing the team in 1960?

Clearly it didn't stick beyond his era.

Correct, the "Missouri Mule" became the alternate logo of the Athletics until Walter Haas bought the team in 1981.

+1 for Baggino & your question.

I guess we'll go with a moderately easy one...

There has been only one pitcher to throw more than 20 strikeouts in one game. Name him, how many he threw, the game (team faced), and how many innings.

All I can remember from reading about it...Washington Senators, Baltimore Orioles, 1960's and I am pretty sure it was a 15-16 inning game.

Can't remember the name...I am pretty sure he's not a HOF'r or anything.

everything you've said so far is correct (well the last one is one of those two numbers)

He is not a HOF'er...classic "one-game wonder". Still pretty impressive that he pitched the entire game though.

Yes, Baseball Encyclopedia FTW. I got one for my birthday one year & read the whole damn thing. I remember bits and pieces of most of the big part of baseball history.

Now on this question...it bothers me...I did end up looking up the rest of the answer. I will keep my mouth shut and see if anyone else gets the rest.

Roger Clemens, he threw 2 20 strikeout games, against the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers. He pitched 9 innings VS Mariners, and he pitched 9 innings VS Tigers also.

New Question:

What year did the New York Yankees first have pinstripes on their uniforms?

BTW, if I got the last question wrong (Baggino's question), just delete this post

You did get the question wrong...

The answer is Tom Cherney, who had 21 Ks in 16 innings.

I also do remember that that is about 5% of his career strikeouts... lolz

Prior to last year, when Miguel Cabrera led the AL with 37 HR, who was the last player to lead the AL and/or NL in HR while hitting less than 40?

*hint* Interestingly enough, the guy who did this was the last in both the AL and NL.

Nope. Manny never played in the NL before half of last year.

Dice-J: Pinstripes first appeared on the Yankees' caps in 1903.

Yanks2772: After some thought, I am pretty sure Fred McGriff makes sense.

....and we move on. Let's keep the Q & A's going on a consistent basis here.

Q: Name 3 former Brooklyn Dodgers prospects that played for the Montreal Royals?
