Yes I know. But I'd draft quite a few QB's in the NFL right now before I drafted Cutler.

Cutler is not going to Detroit... I'm pretty sure the Broncos are looking for players in return for Cutler, and the Lions don't have players to offer considering there team is trash.

And Rip why are you downgrading Cutler if you want him on the Lions so bad? It's just a matter of you thinking that he'll go cheap to the Lions.

I thought draft picks were players? Or do they use them on donkeys?

Bottom line is Detroit has a bunch of picks they can give for Cutler, but we aren't going to trade #1 overall for him..

Rip, I guess you're used to all the QBs the Lions usually get because Cutler is actually good. Who would you draft ahead of him? He has basically identical stats to f/cking John Elway at this point in their careers. Yeah there are older QBs that I would take ahead of him to be better RIGHT NOW but Cutler is 26 turning 27 and has a lot more time left for him in this league. The only person from his age group I MIGHT take ahead of him is Big Ben and the only one younger is Matt Ryan.

 It's obvious I meant players who are proven, or are young and look like the real deal and not a risk on the #20 pick. And the Lions have many more needs then just a QB. They should be working on getting more players on there team, not just one.

Yeah, I'd rather not go into the season with Culpepper as starter.
I just don't understand why you rule out the Lions so quickly? We don't have Moron Millen anymore. Mayhew already pulled a deal on a Pro-Bowler.

So you want to go into the season with Cutler, giving up multiple picks and having no linemen and just one receiver around him? What will that do? It will make him un happy again.

Peterson is no longer a pro-bowler... He was simply brought in as a temporary linebacker so they don't have to address that need in the first round.

You don't know he will give up multiple picks. Detroit hasn't had a good QB in YEARS.

Peterson made the Pro-Bowl last year... And even if he was brought in so we wouldn't have to draft a LB, wouldn't that be smart?

So just the #20 pick for one of the best QBs in the league who is still on the rise? I'm sure the Broncos will take that.

Well then we look at Pro-Bowlers in different way, you go by fan favorites who get voted in and put in off respect. His sacks declined last year from the year before and his tackles increased because he was making more tackles 8-10 yards down field.

FOXSports.com said:
The agent for Jay Cutler says the offseason purge of coaches is at the root of the disgruntled quarterback's issues with the Broncos, and the team's owner is not sure the damage can be repaired.

"To tell you the truth, I have no answer to that question," Denver owner Pat Bowlen told NFL.com. "I would like to keep him here, obviously. But if you are going to be an unhappy camper, there is no real reason to be here."

Agent Bus Cook said Bowlen's firing of head coach Mike Shanahan started an atmosphere of doubt that snowballed into mistrust once offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates was also dismissed.

"The owner assured him everything would be fine," Cook said. "The owner said he had the second-best offense in football and would leave the offensive staff intact. Jay was good with that. Then he hires an offensive coach (Josh McDaniels) who gets rid of the staff."

Bowlen disputed Cook's account of events.

"Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler's agent, Bus Cook, has escalated the tension between Cutler and the club by telling NFL.com today that Denver owner Pat Bowlen promised Cutler after coach Mike Shanahan was fired that the offensive staff would remain in tact.

But new coach Josh McDaniels promptly fired the entire offensive staff, includiing offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, whom Cutler was close to.

Bowlen has denied making the remarks and he's said to be upset that his integrity is being called into question by Cook.

As a result of this latest salvo, it's looking more and more like Cutler and the Broncos are headed to a messy divorce. And trade talks could heat up at the owner's meetings in California, which begin on Sunday.

The Bucs and Lions appear to be the frontrunners to land Cutler, with the Jets also in the conversation. The Bucs tried to get Cutler a three-way trade involving the Patriots before the Chiefs swooped in and landed quarterback Matt Cassel, whom Denver was trying to obtain.
