As expected, the St. Louis Rams officially parted ways with 32-year old WR Torry Holt on Friday.
One of the last remaining players from the "Greatest Show on Turf" days, Holt leaves the team as 11th on the NFL all-time receptions list and 14th on the all-time receiving yards. Holt's departure leaves just Marc Bulger and Leonard Little as the only 2 remaining player left from the Rams' 2002 Super Bowl team.
So where to next for Torry? After reading several rumors, blogs, "expert" analysis...its up to SI to continue the speculation. I've read that Holt will be looking for a 3-year deal, and interestingly enough...the Minnesota Vikings were more than willing to offer TJ Houshmandzadeh the same amount of years.
New York is citing the Jets to be heavily interested, KC fan blog cited that the Chiefs had already agreed to a 3-year deal with Holt on March 4th (don't ask, its a blog), and the Chicago Tribune is beginning to "media pressure" the Bears to make the move.
Of course...Holt wouldn't be a "flashy" FA if the Raiders didn't end up in the mix as well. -AE
