As expected, the St. Louis Rams officially parted ways with 32-year old WR Torry Holt on Friday.

One of the last remaining players from the "Greatest Show on Turf" days, Holt leaves the team as 11th on the NFL all-time receptions list and 14th on the all-time receiving yards. Holt's departure leaves just Marc Bulger and Leonard Little as the only 2 remaining player left from the Rams' 2002 Super Bowl team.

So where to next for Torry? After reading several rumors, blogs, "expert" analysis...its up to SI to continue the speculation. I've read that Holt will be looking for a 3-year deal, and interestingly enough...the Minnesota Vikings were more than willing to offer TJ Houshmandzadeh the same amount of years.

New York is citing the Jets to be heavily interested, KC fan blog cited that the Chiefs had already agreed to a 3-year deal with Holt on March 4th (don't ask, its a blog), and the Chicago Tribune is beginning to "media pressure" the Bears to make the move.

Of course...Holt wouldn't be a "flashy" FA if the Raiders didn't end up in the mix as well. -AE

That would be cool to see him re-unite with Bruce in San Fran.

Baltimore 49ers and the Giants should all fight over this free agent. Be nice to see Holt in a Ravens uniform next season and Flaco throwing him about 10 touchdowns.

I just hate how Giants fans have turned their backs on Plaxico. You guys have begged to be done with the guy and pleaded with the team to sign Houshmandzadeh, T.O. and now Torry Holt. C'mon...the guy shot himself in the leg, a stupid situation but its not like he did anything to alienate your team.

Think about it, Super Bowl 42 doesn't belong to the Giants if Plaxico isn't on the 2007 Giants Roster. The guy was way too important and made way too many big plays that season.

Yea I definitely know what you mean. The guy has only been late to practice or meetings 42 times, we should be more lenient with him since this is his first ocurrence. Super Bowl 42 does belong to Plaxico, but it takes a team to win one. And if one player hinders the team then he shouldnt be on the team. And who said that Plaxico should leave?

You know how many players are late to practices and meetings? So many that its stupid to even point that out.

Plaxico Burress is a much better threat for the Giants than Torry Holt can be.

Well no I'm just saying lets sign Holt because if Arizona aint trading Boldin, and I realllly doubt Plax is escaping Jail Time, let's get Holt to a 2 or 3 year deal while he's still out there.

I'd be one of the first to welcome Plax back, but I just dont see him staying for a while due to his "issues".

I know Plax is a better threat than Holt. But we need a #2 bcuz Toomer isnt coming back and Steve Smith is a 3rd down receiver. Holt could slide in as that #2.

If Marshawn Lynch gets off an illegal gun charge, Plaxico does as well. Plax will get off with probation, community service, and some hefty fines. Pro athletes have done worse and still gotten off with a slap on the hand.

So...if you bring in Torry Holt as your #2...who's your #1? Your not goign to be able to squeeze Holt and keep Plax under the same cap.

Its possible if Holt wants to win a championship, hes getting up in age and will need to take a pay cut. What better place to win than the Giants? The Jets?!?

Minnesota or Chicago are playoff teams that would be willing to give him the 3 year deal & most likely more money as well.

Holt isnt going to take a pay cut to win a championship. He is looking to get paid because he nows his time is almost up in the league and needs that money to hold him over the rest of his life. Chicago need to get a good QB before they think about championship. Minnesota would be the best spot for him to go.

Give orton a chance, they dont need a new QB, they need to stick with 1 QB for at least 3 years.
