Cutler speculation won’t end soon
March 10th, 2009 – 6:45 PM by Judd Zulgad

It isn’t possible to know how this Jay Cutler situation is going to play out — a certain octogenarian sports columnist I know said there is no way the quarterback winds up in Minnesota — but it sure looks like he might not be calling Denver home for the long term. Pro Football Talk picked up this interesting item from the CBS affiliate in Denver.

The highlights:

* Broncos owner Pat Bowlen tried to call Cutler twice last week and Cutler did not take either call.
* A face-to-face meeting that was supposed to happen between Cutler and new coach Josh McDaniels — a guy who sounded as if he really wanted to bring Matt Cassel with him from New England – instead became a less-than-pleasant conference call.
* McDaniels made it clear he would not trade Culter during the call but then reversed course and made it sound like a trade is a possibility.

I’ve got a feeling this thing is going to continue to play out until the week of the NFL draft, which falls on April 25 and 26.
---------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if he ends up in Minnesota, but this is headed down a path that leads OUT of Denver, imo.

He's staying. Who the f/ck else is going to play QB? Darrell Hackney? Chris Simms? This thing will smooth itself out.

Pat Bowlen needs to step in and play the role of mediator during this.

I think the Broncos' top brass are trying to play the "we're running the show, do as we say" game & its only frustrating Cutler more.

The fans are 100% behind Cutler, still have no idea who the hell their new head coach even is.

Bowlen has tried to. Called Cutler twice last week and Cutler blew him off, according to numerous media outlets.

MLive.com - The Lions reportedly tried to trade for Jay Cutler last month and if the Broncos revisit dealing the quarterback, Detroit is expected to get involved once again.

It's possible that Denver could take the 20th overall pick from the Lions for Cutler, and that they'll wait to see if they can select a quarterback with that pick.

In my opinion, the Broncos have to trade Jay Cutler now. You can't keep this mess around your team. It's a huge distraction that you just can't have, especially when you're rebuilding.

Jay Cutler puts Denver Home up for sale.

Denver Channel - Jay Cutler, who has shown public frustration with the Broncos over reports that the team tried to trade him, has put his Denver area house on the market.

The custom-built, four-bedroom, seven-bath home reportedly went on the market Thursday and is listed for sale at $2 million.

Cutler also owns a penthouse condo in downtown Denver.
He's going to be a Lion or a Jet.

I think McDaniels has completely rubbed Cutler the wrong way & after being on the cusp of the post-season in his first couple seasons...perhaps Jay just doesn't feel like going through the rebuilding stage.

Never had a wet dream to be honest.

I think getting Cutler is logical as well. For both parties.

Then you hadn't had a normal childhood my friend. Same satisfaction, no work or relationship required. It doesn't get ANY BETTER THAN THAT.

Exactly, i try to say that on other sites and all the Vikings fans get biased that their going to somehow make a trade for cutler and trade Sage Rosenfels... right, because the Broncos want Rosenfels over Cutler.
