NFL's Sickest Play

We will put 2 plays up against each other and vote on the better play. Winner moves onto the next day and the next challenger. Sound familiar? Keep in mind right now that each play is to be judged on the individual play alone. The game, the stipulation, how important the play was towards the outcome of the game doesn't matter.

Just judge the better play on how freaking impressive it is. Gonna start this off with a bang and make it interesting early.

Match 1: David Tyree vs Lewis Bennett

^ David Tyree, Super Bowl 42

^ This play actually took place during the 1982 Player Strike.

Tyree won the Super Bowl, for all intensive purposes. The other guy was back pumping gas a week after this catch.

I`ve got to go with David Tyree on this one. Not taking anything away from the amazing difficulty of Bennetts` catch, but I have seen that type of catch, or at least some similarities to that kind of catch, as for Tyrees` catch, I dont recall seeing another player make a catch like that.

On a side note, Tyrone Prothro made the greatest catch I have ever seen in football...period.

Too bad he broke both legs the year after, completely killing any shot he had at an NFL career.

I'm going with Tyree's catch, Prothro's is the best in college though.

I went with the Other dude, it says sickest catch and that one was way more sicker than the tyree catch imo

Actually yea, I've seen people catch the ball and press it against their helmet, I think people say that catch is so amazing is what Eli did when he had the ball avoiding all those tacklers...And the importance of that drive.

Tyree was in the middle of a situation where if he did not make that catch, the game was absoloutely over, along with the Giants season. Tyree's catch was arguably just as good as the other catch, ALONG WITH Eli's amazing breakaway, and then throw, and with those 2 dynamics combined i don't know how any play can be comparable with it.

Tyree's catch because of the situation, I don't care if it wasn't as good, the pressure for him to make that catch was incredibly high.

I just want to point out that both catches are made from Giants players.

As for the better catch. Its Tyree, even though we arent counting the situation. The escape, the throw, the catch, add to it that one of the greatest Safeties of all time is covering him and trying to rip the ball. It was third down in the super bowl. Its just one of the greatest catches of all time bcuz of wat it meant. When Tyree made that catch I knew 100% we were going to win.

For those who can't read, the rules of the contest clearly state that judging isn't to be based upon games, situations, or outcomes.

Simply judge on the play alone and zero other factors.
