NjNets Mock Draft: Version 2.0

1. Detroit Lions: Jason Smith, Tackle, Baylor
I originally had Andre Smith here but he was very unimpressive in the combine, leaving without notice and not preforming very well, so I move Jason Smith up to this spot. He did great at his school, and preformed well at the combine and I believe the Lions are looking to make sure they improve at the offensive line before they address anything else. If anything else, I would say they draft Stafford here with his recently shown interest to want to play for them, but I have Smith there for now.

2. St. Louis Rams: Aaron Curry, Linebacker, Wake Forest
I saw this guy at the combine, and he is a straight up physical specimen. If he has any coach that can teach him the right way to play he is instantly going to become a difference maker in the NFL. He's built like a rock, has speed and has great balance, and is the type of guy that would make a running back think twice before running towards his direction. I think the Rams are going to take this choice because they basically have to because of how good this guy is more than their need at the position.

3. Kansas City Cheifs: Michael Crabtree, Wide Receiever, Texas Tech
After trading for Cassel, all rumors of the Cheifs taking Matt Stafford have gone out the window because they got their franchise quarterback. Now with that Quarterback, he is going to need some targets to throw to. With Dwyane Bowe already, if you line up Crabtree on the other side with Cassel throwing the ball, the Cheifs could become one of the better passing teams in the NFL.

4. Seattle Seahawks: Everette Brown, Defensive End, Florida
One thing just about every defender that comes out of Florida has one thing in common: speed. This guy is a great pass rusher and is going to be a great addition to any team that he goes to, so I see the seahawks picking him up.

5. Cleveland Browns: Brian Orakpo, Defensive End, Texas
He is a monster, freak, beast, what else do you want to know? The man is just straight up strong, fast and physical and not someone that you want to deal with as an offensive lineman, and someone the Browns may be looking for as they move into their 3-4 Defense under Eric Mangini.

6. Cincinatti Bengals: Jeremy Maclin, Wide Receiever, Missouri
This kid is a very good receiever, and the Bengals are going to have to deal with the probably departure of TJ Houshmanzadeh, who is not going to be easy to replace, giving Maclin a big job as he would step in here.

7. Oakland Raiders: Andre Smith, Tackle, Alabama
They need someone on the offensive line, straight up. Andre Smith showed so much talent in college and his draft stock is dropping mainly because of what happened at the combine. But I think he will show enough from now until draft day to let the raiders now that he is still worthy of them taking him here.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Matthew Stafford, Quarterback, Georgia
The first quarterback taken falls down to the Jags. I like David Garrard but he isn't exactly what most teams would consider someone to base your franchise around, which Stafford has some promise in. Stafford has an absoloute cannon and great accuracy, and in my opinion will have a similar first season to Matt Ryan if given the opprotunity.

9. Green Bay Packers: Malcolm Jenkins, Cornerback, Ohio State
Jenkins is clearly the best CB in the draft and is somebody that could easily fit into the system in Green Bay, and make them a much better defense right away as he steps into the NFL.

10. San Fransisco 49ers: Eugene Monroe, Tackle, Virginia
This pick assumes that the 49ers will take care of their Quarterback issues through free agency with either Kurt Warner or Byron Leftwich, but Monroe is a great tackle that adds the toughness that Mike Singletary is looking for. As an oldschool guy, Singletary knows that games are won in the trenches and will probably push for a pick to improve one of the lines here.

11. Buffalo Bills: Michael Oher, Tackle, Ole Miss
Oher is a great offensive lineman to step onto the Bills team and with some work could end up being one of the better ones in the game.

12. Denver Broncos: BJ Raji, Defensive Tackle, Boston College
The Broncos need some help here at tackle and they could use him as they look to become a better defense after already adding Brian Dawkins. (Their defense could improve greatly in a hurry with Dawkins added on and a healthy team which they did not have last year).

13. Washington Redskins: Clay Matthews, Defensive End, USC
The Redskins are more in need of an offensive lineman than a defensive one, but I don't think there is much talent here at that position that will warrant them taking an O-lineman, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if they decide to drop back in the draft.

14. New Orleans Saints: Alex Mack, Center, California
Mack is a great center and fills a need here for the Saints, so I would expect this pick here fromt he Saints.

15. Houston Texans: Vontae Davis, Cornerback, Illinois
The Texans are a few steps away from becoming a great team, and having a shutdown cornerback is one of the few missing pieces, so this is the direction I would expect the Texans to go in here.

16. San Diego Chargers: Brian Cushing, Linebacker, USC
The Chargers could use somebody at Linebacker and Cushing is a great player who comes out of a great system, and his stock has continued to rise and rise as the days go along.

17. New York Jets: Hakeem Nicks, Wide Receiver, UNC
The Jets are going to absoloutely have to go to a Wide Receiver here with the departure of Coles, and Nicks is the choice I would go with. He isn't the fastest man alive but he has great route running abilities and he has amazing hands, something the Jets could use.

18. Chicago Bears: Darius Heyward Bey, Wide Receiver, Maryland
Heyward Bey was one of the biggest stars of hte combine, and would fill a void that definitely exists in Chicago, who I would say have the worst receiving core in the entire NFL, no offense.
The Next 5 will be up soon.

19. Tampa Bay Bucaneers: Percy Harvin, Anything you need him for, Florida
The Bucs look like they are going young and without Galloway there anymore I think Wide Receiver might be the way they go here. Also, other than being a receiver, Harvin is a 100% Playmaker, and something any team could use in this draft.

20. Detroit Lions: Mark Sanchez, Quarterback, USC
The Lions will have taken care of the O-line problem already with the #1 pick, and Sanchez could be a guy to step in there at quarterback and preform for the Lions. Sanchez has a decent arm and if the O-line preforms at all for him he should have no problem getting the ball to Calvin Johnson, over and over, and over.

21. Philadelphia Eagles: Knowshon Moreno, Running Back, Georgia
With Correl Buckhalter gone, the Eagles need a 2nd guy for their 1-2 punch with Brian Westbrook, especially with the injury problems that Brian Westbrook goes through, so this would be the absoloute perfect pick for them. I would have to say this is a no brainer for them if he is on the board, but that is the biggest question.

22. Minnesota Vikings: Rey Maulaluga, Linebacker, USC
I think this would be considered my 2nd most under-rated player in the draft other than Brian Robiskie. Rey is an absolute beast and comes from a completely proven system, and I think he will continue to flourish in the NFL.

23. New England Patriots: Louis Delmas, Western Michigan, Safety
The Patriots are going to need some help at safety and Delmas is the most talented safety on the board, so I see the Patriots picking him up here.

24. Atlanta Falcons: Larry English, Linebacker, Northern Illinois
He is a quick player on defense and is the kind of guy that the Falcons need in order to get past losing Keith Brooking.

25. Miami Dolphins: Brandon Pettigrew, Tight End, OSU
Although the Dolphins don't have a glaring need here, I think that Pettigrew is a great weapon to add onto the Dolphins for Pennington, who will have a great year next season with a more experienced Ted Ginn Jr. , probably Lavernaus Coles and this pick would put them over the top.

26. Baltimore Ravens: Alphonso Smith, Cornerback, Wake Forest
The Ravens are struggling at CB and without Chris McCalister now this pick seems like a no brainer.

27. Philadelphia Eagles: William Beatty, Tackle, Connecticut
An athletic tackle that over time could be a big part of the line, and develop with Knowshon if this happens according to my saying.

28. Indianapolis Colts: Peria Jerry, Defensive Tackle, Ole Miss
The Colts desperately need size and physicality on both ends and this pick would help them greatly.

29. New York Giants: Jared Cook, Tight End, South Carolina
He is a very big guy, and moves more like a wide receiever than a tight end and the exact type of thing that Eli Manning could use.

30. Tennessee Titans: Aaron Maybin, Defensive End, Penn State
He is very fast and can get around the edge quick, making for a great player to add onto this defensive line. My sleeper here could be Brian Robiskie.

31. Arizona Cardinals: Beanie Wells, Running Back, Ohio State
The Cardinals need some size and physicality at running back, especially with Edge possibly leaving and I think Beanie is just the guy to bring those dimensions.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers: Tyson Jackson, Defensive End, LSU
The Steelers don't have any glaring need on offense, and not really on defense either, so pretty much all this does is add to an already amazing defensive line.

My Favorites:
QB: Matt Stafford
RB: Knowshon Moreno
WR: Brian Robiskie (Sleeper)
TE: Brandon Pettigrew

Number One will be Matthew Stafford or Mark Sanchez. 90% Chance. There's no franchise QB in Detroit atm, why would they try and correct O-Line first first.

EDIT: It wasn't their O-Line why Kitna got a safety... he ran out, QB mistake

Meh, I don't know... Crabtree can only raise his stock from this point. His 40 will decide where he ends up.

To quote LonesomeFX: It wasn't their O-Line why Kitna got a safety... he ran out, QB mistake

It wasn't Kitna, it was Danny Olorvsky, and regardless of that, which was the O-lines fault also, trust me he wasnt running the wrong direction for no reason, the Offensive line was God awful the entire season

Once again, if you feel you can do better, go ahead and try. Basically anything that is put down right now is a complete guess no matter who does it.

Nets why do you think the Giants will draft a TE, when we already have that position locked with Boss?

We're either go with a WR, LB, or DB since those are a biggest needs. I believe if Hakeem Nicks falls to us we'll go with him.

Dez i say that because Eli needs another big, reliable target that he missed in Plaxico. They can play twok Tight Ends, although I agree that they could very well draft a WR at their pick, or even trade up for Crabtree
