For QB Sage Rosenfells.

Sports Radio 610 out of Houston is reporting that the Vikings are offering a fifth-round pick and the Texans are seeking a third. They will probably settle on a fourth-rounder. Meanwhile, the station also reports the Vikings have offered a three-year, $9 million extension to Rosenfels.

plenty of backup QBs to be had in FA, so Houston is stupid not to do

We featured Bollinger, Frerotte, and John David Booty to begin last season. Bollinger was released prior to the start of the season, Frerotte was only under a 1 year deal, and I'm pretty sure Booty isn't destined to be anything more than a career NFL backup.

Hard to get too excited about Sage Rosenfels but If you can perform in Minnesota the same way he did in Houston...he could take us places.

Rosenfels cost Houston two games, including his fumbling effort in the last 5 minutes of the Colts game. Houston was way better without IMO

Because he's about to be property of the Minnesota Vikings. Teams negotiate deals with players they trade for all the time. Obviously, it doesn't go into effect until he officially becomes a member of the new team, but teams negotiate new contracts when trading for guys all the time.

im actually very happy about this going down. I think Sage Rosenfels has yet to show the NFL what he can truly do. Obviously, hes no Peyton, but the Vikings dont need a Manning or Brady. They just need someone who can manage the game and not make stupid/dumb mistakes like Jackson has proven to do in tough situations. I know he had that terrible game against the Colts which costed Houston the game, but that stuff happens. It was 1 game and its time to move on.

The Vikings can give Sage a must better chance to win than Houston can. Our defense is already set for destruction and we obviously have arguably the best running game in the league with Peterson and Taylor and we have capable receivers. This should at least help stop opposing teams stacking the box to stop Peterson and if it doesnt, well thats why we have Mr. 99yd'r in Bernard Berrian to go deep which has been a problem as Jackson's deep ball is questionable. Also, after the Vikings draft Percy Harvin, that will just be one more threat opposing defenses will have to worry about. =]

I've been saying this ever since I could talk, but this time it might be a possibility... watch out for the Vikes next year.
