Oklahoma City Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced today that the team has rescinded its trade with the New Orleans Hornets for center Tyson Chandler.

The Thunder and the Hornets agreed on the deal, pending a physical, that would have sent Chandler to the Thunder in exchange for forward Joe Smith, forward Chris Wilcox and the draft rights to DeVon Hardin.

“We were pleased to add Tyson to the Thunder roster,” said Presti. “During the course of the physical examination and outside consultations some questions arose that gave us cause for concern. We felt that this course of action was the best for our organization.”

New Orleans has to trade Chandler in order to get under that cap figure for next season. Sucks for OKC though as this would of been a nice addition for them.

I am happy about this. I wasn't a big fan of the trade.

I didn't have a problem with the players, just the fact that they were rentals.

AE, the Hornets had to trade TC to get under the luxury tax, not the salary cap. With or without him, we were still over the cap.

Your right...and what puts the Hornets in a tough spot is the fact that trading Chandler for expiring contracts would leave them with no big man at Center next season. They aren't going to have any money to hit the market with.

It must be a pretty serious toe problem if OKC didn't want him in the end. You have a nice building block for next year, so it must be full on to give it back

Man this would have been a nice addition for OKC but then again who would be CP's new Alley-Opp target?

You know what, in an odd way you are right.

When the trade went through, they got worse on court.

Now that the trade is reversed, they are worse off CAP wise.

Its incredble lol.

You have been right all along Mexi, they really are the Hornots. Chris Paul might need shoulder surgery soon, hes been carrying this team so damn much.

didnt expect this to happen..

chandler is a good center and in the right system it will show.. in OKC i didnt think he would do as good with durant taking 30 + shots a game.. hopefully NO will get rid of Peja to keep chandler..

They knew going into this Tyson was hurt, they also have 0 chance at the playoffs, this would have given them a defensive post presence. I would have be fine with this.

I expect NO to give money and a pick or two, they need to clear cap BAD.

Tyson Chandler has missed fourteen straight games with a sprained ankle, but the center's asthma may have played a role in his failed physical.

The Thunder voided a trade with the Hornets that would have sent Chandler to Oklahoma City for Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox on Wednesday night.

"We have to listen to the people (conducting) our medicals," general manager Sam Presti said. "We feel the right decision for us was to move in another direction. We're disappointed it did not work out. At the same time, we look forward to having both Chris and Joe back in Thunder uniforms."
