CP3 is injured, Nelson's injured. Mexi did you happen to recite some of your own prayers to the basketball gods after Bynum went down?

Instead of appreciating Kobe, all people do is look for reasons to dismiss him.
Do they seriously believe that Kobe's gonna try and do that all season long?
oh yeah Pau Gasol had 31/14/5 last night. It's not like it was all kobe.

Monday was just a perfect time to send a message. Bynum went down, and the lakers played THE KNICKS
and seriously, when your hot your hot. It's not like he took 45 shots. He was 19/31. thats damn impressive. why would he pass unless he absolutely had to? that would have hurt the team

I don't see anyone here dismissing him besides maybe TYO, and I agree with him I'd take 50/10/8 over 61/3 but it was still an amazing performance. And it's not like he dismissed it either, he admitted it was amazing as well.

oh my bad, i've been reading articles and comments on other sites and blah blah blah

I might agree with you 2 in saying that Brons performance was better, but Kobe was ill as <Censored>
I know your not suprised I'm saying this, but last night showed why Kobe is still the best IMO
He can turn it on at any moment and still has more offensive fire power than LeBron

I think Kobe is better offensively, but LeBron is better in pretty much everything else IMO

well he's better in rebounding because he plays forward and is bigger and stronger by miles
the passing. ok LeBron is better in that category, but just because kobe doesnt rack up the assists doesnt mean he doesnt do a good job facilitating. and really, why would any team want their SHOOTING GUARD passing all the time?
the triangle offense really eliminates big assist numbers. thats why fishers numbers are so low in the assist category anyways

but really. i think they're two totally different players. thats why i hate talking about who's better?
i think it depends on the day lol. whoever is the better player isnt unanimously and thats for sure

Well obviously that's the reason he is a better rebounder, he is stronger, and is the most athletic player in the NBA, if he played PF all the time and was constantly in the paint he'd probably put up astronomical rebounding numbers.

Kobe does have passing talents, but he doesn't use it in the 4th quarter a lot, that's one thing that separates LeBron from Kobe as well, he will trust his team mates in any situation. Kobe is an excellent passer, but LeBron might be the best passer/ball handler in the league, if not the best probably behind Chris Paul or something.

It's not unanimous but when two players are that close, you are obviously going to be going to be defending the player on your favorite team.

That should be fun. I`m not going to be overconfident about it, if anything, i`d be underconfident, but it should be a good game. I just hope Pistons can come out with the win. I prefer not to see them lose 3 straight, at the Palace.

No he isnt really isnt

The Kobe Effect (ko-bee eff-ekt) noun. The state that arises when a player creates the popular notion that he is clutch by taking so many late-game shots that he inevitably hits enough to create this impression, even when it is not true.

Last year, Kobe ranked second (behind LeBron) in clutch scoring, pouring in 51.8 points per 48 minutes, according to 82games. But he was jacking up 33.6 shots per 48 minutes, third most in the league (again behind LeBron and, absurdly, Jamaal Tinsley). His "clutch" field goal percentage was 44.8 percent--right around his career average. That's pretty solid--especially considering the degree of difficulty on those shots is higher than in the normal course of play.

But here are Kobe's "clutch" shooting percentages from the last five seasons going backwards: 44.8, 43.6, 36.4, 32.4, 39.6. That's not great. But let's narrow the sample size and look at the clutchiest of clutch shots--potentially game-winning shots in the last 30 seconds. How does Kobe do there? From 2003 through 2006, Kobe made seven such shots -- tied for ninth most in the league. But he fired up 32 shots, the highest total among all players. That adds up to a shooting percentage of 21.9 percent, well below the league average of 29 percent. Kobe also had zero assists in game-winning situations during that span.

Lakers arent in as many close games as the Cavs though :p

but really. Kobe can take over the game at any point. you know that. when there's 5 seconds left and you have to have a bucket to win the game, i still would want kobe taking the last shot and 8 out of 10 will agree

the other 2 will take Roger Mason and I cant blame them

Personally i think its just me let me have VC take the last shot. Dude can be a bum all game and make the game winner like its nothing.

yeah, I love that about Vince

and i'm not arguing who's better i just want to say this.
This is what I love about Kobe. He can drop 50, 60, etc and people are like ok, so?
but when Bron drops 50 and one day when he drops 60 its stop the world look at what lebron did
i'm not hating TYO. I just love how people have already dismissed Kobe and pretty much take for granted what he does.

Dont get me wrong i love kobe no homo. He's one of the most gifted scorers to ever pick up a basketball. I'll say this if he is the best player in the league which he may be and at times like last night looks like it. He wont be the best for more than another year.
