2 seconds or 2 minutes - time does not matter - a foul is a foul. shooter has the right to jump in ANY angle to acquire a shot. the defender must be straight up and down to assume proper defense position. a shooter drawing a foul from an improper defensive stance? never happens right?

because Terry attacked in an angle, he IS at fault. though, I will give that the referee probably did not have the proper angle to view legitimate contact. Billups did well to sell the call, and he got. Other superstars do that all the time, including Terry. It's part of the game.

If the other official, in better view angle, saw something different, he could've overruled the official, but it did not happen.
Honestly, that one play shouldn't justify the outcome of the game anyway. Mavericks let Birdman walk all over them -- it's a team fault, not the referee's.
