As far as I knew, if the ball is leaving your hands via pass/shot/layup/dunk on a third step it isn't a travel.

I've down that plenty of times and have NEVER been called for a travel..
And I'm not anywhere near Bron's talent lol.

Exactly Lebron is still wrong in trying to argue this. He did start to do a crab dribble when he got in the lane, but then he pivoted and started making his move without dribbling again, making that first step number 1, then the hopstep, then another step.

I'm not saying you can take 3, I'm saying as longs as the ball is mid shot/layup you can put a 3rd step down.
If I had a vid of what I mean you would understand, I'm not saying you can take 3 total steps, it's more like 2 and a half lol.

See hopstep.
Thats stops all moves, anything after that would travel, even if it's your first step.

I'm not saying you can move after that..
