Already down Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn for the season, the Cleveland Browns are left with Ken Dorsey, Bruce Gradkowski, and emergency quarterback Joshua Cribbs. With the Browns season already down the hole and the offense continuing to sputter week to week, pro bowl returnman Cribbs is now campaigning to move up the QB depth chart.
Cribbs, a running quarterback at Kent State, feels as though he has was it takes to lead the Browns' offense and would like the shot to do so. Cribbs has already been under center for the Browns this season, lining up at QB during the Browns "Flash" packages on offense.
Cribbs posted over 10,839 offensive yards while at Kent State, an all-time school record. Cribbs is also one of only four players in NCAA history to record both 1,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in as many as two different seasons. As far as his NFL passing career is concerned, Cribbs has logged 1 passing attempt and an 39.6 QB rating, courtesy of the 2006 season.
At this point, the guy is electric with the football and do the Browns really have anything else to lose? -AE
