BEREA, Ohio -- Derek Anderson's season is officially over, yet another slap for the down-on-their-luck Cleveland Browns.

Anderson, who lost his starting job to Brady Quinn several weeks ago, will miss the final four games after tearing a ligament in his left knee on Sunday against Indianapolis.

An MRI taken Monday revealed Anderson tore the medial collateral ligament when he was sacked in the final minutes of Cleveland's 10-6 loss to the Colts. Anderson, making his first start since Nov. 2 after being benched for Quinn, will not need surgery. He will be placed in a brace and will need four to six weeks to recover.

I hear the fans were cheering when Anderson went down. I don't see how you can boo the man, he did get them to the playoffs last season. Just because he has an off-year, doesn't give you the right to boo the man.. Even if he was playing like sh-t.

That's like if when Everett went down everyone cheered. You shouldn't boo anyone's injury. It's pretty damn ignorant, IMO.

Judging from what's being reported on SI.com.. I'll post up the quote.

SI.com said:
In what could be an unceremonious ending to his Browns career, Derek Anderson heard Browns fans cheering when the quarterback went down in the fourth quarter with a damaged left knee ligament that will probably end his season. "They were cheering the fact that I was hurt," said Anderson after the 10-6 loss to the Colts. "They don't like me. That's well known." The cheering was not lost on his teammates, who were upset by it. One said it was his lowest point in Cleveland Browns Stadium.

I hate hearing that. It hurts to know what Derek is feeling like inside knowing people don't like him after his couple of off years. It's unacceptable.

I actually heard Eagle fans booing Donovan McNabb when he threw one incomplete pass. Give the guy a break.

Anderson deserves a chance to start somewhere, because he is capable of being a starter in the NFL.

If you're referring to Philly... No, they're not all 'ungrateful ignorant pricks'. I'm not from Philly, but close enough to there.

Fans were cheering when he went out, which is a disgrace. I still think Anderson is better then Quinn and my opinion will not change until Quinn has a season like Anderson's, because both basically put the same stats up this year with the same cast.

Anyway, Dorsey will start at QB. I would like to see Cribbs start at QB to see what he can do, because he did play QB in college, but we've seen two QBs go down, and Cribbs is arguably our most valuable player and we cannot see him go down with a bad injury.

I have heard that Eagle fans are pretty harsh compared to most. I've heard that by more than several people.

I wouldn't say all Eagles fans are like that... I know quite a few Eagles fans, too.
